Potpourri: WIW, K/R, DIY ? - YouLookFab Forum

I've been away and then super busy at work so semi-absent (but keeping up when I can) So here is a condensed post of everything:
1. WIW for Casual Friday at work: LIberty J Crew (high five Diana), Gap white jeans, Tria Denim Jacket, Clark's sandals
2. WIW pretending I just left the beach (when I'm many miles from one): J Crew linen shirt (embrace the crease!) and madras patch shorts, Nixon rose gold watch, Gap rose gold flip flops
K/R 3-4 Tommy Hilfiger Maxi. I like the navy color and colorblocking, I like the drape (it's not a knit), but is it too short? I'm not 100% sold on the elastic waist, but could change to a drawstring. I added a Ralph silk tie belt?
5. My search for a baseball/bomber: I ordered the Vince Camuto but by the time I realized I hadn't received it they were all gone (did my neighbors get it???) This is from Wilson's and can still be returned. I would wear it casually (not necessarily with this outfit)
6. K/R Anne Klein necklace: I set aside a simpler version at TJMaxx one day and when I returned to purchase someone else was buying it. I've been obsessed ever since. Is this too much to wear with simple tshirts (just one way I'll wear it)
7. I'm obsessed with patch jeans. The jeans are the Gap ones I put my leg through when trying on, I added patches from my kids' ripped jeans (haven't sewn yet so need opinions on placement)

Look at you getting crafty with the patches! I think they're awesome.

My fav here is #1...a very "Jeanne" look. The necklace in #6 is gorgeous....and I am one of the few YLFers who appreciate a groovy maxi dress in the summer, so #3-4 are good in my book.

Happy summer...hope you get a break from the busy soon.

I like all the outfits here, including the bomber jacket and the maxi dress. I could see you wearing the dress to a party or out to dinner in the summer. I like the belt with it. The bomber looks like a great find. (Love those pants you're wearing in that photo, too, btw.) I really like the necklace inside the blouse neckline. I think you could certainly wear it with a tee, too; it will just depend on how comfortable you are with the look. Those are some fun shorts in photo 2!

I really like how those white jeans fit you. Would you mind letting me know which cut that is? We are not the same body types, but just maybe they will work on me too.

Forgot to say I really like your DIY idea on the jeans. I think the patches look great as you've laid them out.
I have a pair of patched jeans from Eddie Bauer, and one patch is placed behind a hole, if recall correctly. Adds a little different look to the mix. There is also indigo embroidery one a patch or two.

Love everything and I like to dress like I'm on vacation at home too! The maxi is so pretty on you and those jeans are fun! #1 is a great look, very you. The necklace is great, not too bold at all.

Thank you for all the inputs. I'm going to try out the necklace with tees today (too lazy yesterday). Sewing the patches today! Next up I'm trying a fabric pair. Can't decide if I'll use bold florals or plaid flannels. I have enough jeans I suspect I could do both, but how many patches does a girl need?

@Sanet - these are Gap 1969 Always SKinny jeans sized up twice from my normal making them the perfect white BF jeans for me. I found them on the clearance rack at the end of last summer for $15 and they have been my go to white jeans all summer. They are just past my ankle so I like to roll them.
@Firecracker - love the idea of adding some embroidery, My DD has some Gap BFs that have that and it's cool. I knew someone years ago who basically patched jeans with mini crazy quilts (random patches and embroidery)

I like the bomber, but have you also checked out NAS for versions? You might want to compare before cutting the tags.
