Well although I've been a member for over 2 years I only started posting outfits 7 months ago.

It really is a process isn't it? I have quite a large amount of YLF clothes from one year ago that I've already lost interest in wearing. Partly because I hadn't (and still haven't fully) found my personal style groove then. . .

Khris, you look great in your before AND after!

I guess I've changed a lot in this year, it's definitely been the most dramatic style change of my life. The first photo is about a year ago, the first photo I posted here. It took a lot of effort to even put it together.

Photo #2 is this morning as I was leaving for work (something about the pants was driving me crazy, so I changed them, but this is the general idea). Probably the most dramatic difference in my life is JACKETS! I didn't own a single one this time last year, now I must have five or six.

Sorry for the picture happy post, but I just couldn't decide if my style has changed much in a year.

1) Black swiss dot dress worn in Feb. 2010
2) Same dress worn last month.

3) What I wore for Christmas party in Dec. 2009.
4) Christmas party 2010

5) Kids' winter recital 2009
6) Kids' winter recital 2010

I don't know...I think I'm stagnant. I still accessorize, layer and choose bold prints the same.

Khris, besides the physical changes in your figure, your hair, glasses and accessories are polished and chic. The first picture is cute, but the second is wowza!

Ooh I love seeing the transformations. Here are mine and I just realised that I'm a veteran now (does that mean I have to act like a grown up - hope not!) so I've been posting for just over a year.

#1 - Baggy black t-shirt, ill-fitting jeans, belt sloppily hanging down. I thought at that stage if I chuck on a necklace that everything else would look better! I think the only redeeming feature is the handbag. Blah I dont like looking at this now....

#2 - Recentish photo. I really like this outfit, feel comfortable in it and I've learned how to use accesories and what colors best suit me. Much happier

Well, I wasn't posting full outfits yet, but a year ago I was trying to decide whether to keep these sweaters (and my hair was a lot longer!) I was also wearing boots that were a bit too big in the calves

Now I only have one chunky knit sweater and new boots!

I've gained weight, so some of my clothes from last year don't fit any more!

But, I do think my style has evolved. I started taking photos in March 2008. I am not really sure why I feel so compelled to keep doing it!

AJ, if you are checking back on this thread... you look AMAZING in both years' Christmas Party and Kids' Recital outfits! Just stunning, you really know how to dress for a dressier event.

To me the most dramatic change has come from Kristine.

Chewyspag you look cute in both outfits but your recent look is more sophisticated.

(I haven't been here a year so I don't have any photos from a year ago.)

Great to see all the different styles. A good encouragement to keep your outfits catologued....would be interesting to look over in years to come.

I couldn't find many pictures from a year ago, but I think this one was from last January. This jacket has sense been voted off the island, and the sweater has been donated as well.
Second picture is what I'm wearing today, but my hair looks a bit better today (I think this pic was taken the morning of my last haircut)
I honeslty think I have just as many misses now as I did a year ago... I just recognize them and don't post them... LOL

Here are two from around this time last year.
Photo 1: I still have the top, but the skirt was consigned because it got too big.
Photo 2: Still have the dress but haven't worn it since.
I'd say my style is fairly similar. Probably more refined and "complete" now?

I don't know if I've come too long a way as I documented a lot more of my outfits only in the first half of last year but here goes. I have as much fun with fashion but I feel like I am really branching out take more risks now, still feeling more and more comfortable in my skin. For example, flat oxfords are something I wouldn't have ever imagined myself wearing when I started here at YLF but short dress+BF jacket/long cardi+leggings+flat oxfords has become my go-to outfit for looking sharp and on trend while still being comfortable (unfortunately no pictures!).

Hmm. I'm not sure I've changed that much since a year ago. (Now, since three years ago -- major leaps, but I wasn't taking photos then.)

Here are some photos from last year. We did a Challenge Chain, and Legacy of Pearl challenged me to mix some of my new birthday goodies in with things I already had to create outfits for (I think) tea or brunch with friends; giving a talk at a meeting; walking the dog. (Look, Paige -- I'm wearing your shoes!)

Well, I haven't been here a year or even close to it, but I already see a difference in my style. I actually feel like I look more like "me" now than I did in my first WIW. Oh and I "though" I was pretty dressed up in the first photo. I learned how to use the self timer with my better camera too...that made a HUGE difference...haha.
First photo was for a New Year's Eve party and the second was just for doing errands...one month later. I still need work, but I think its coming along.

Kristine, I haven't been around much and hadn't seen your new haircut yet. It is STUNNING, so fresh and modern. Love love love it -- and you were able to keep the bangs and make them an integral part of the cut. Wow!!

What a fun thread! I never took pictures of myself before joining YLF this summer, so I can't share. I do know that I used to dress somewhat more conservatively before YLF ("Oh, I couldn't possibly wear that in the classroom. Too <fill in the blank>"). Now I usually go for it, as long as I still look authoritative.
