Aww, I love seeing all these photos! (And next year I'll get to participate, yay!)

I was married before digital photos but will see what I can do. Classically Casual has me beat though, being married in 1967. It's such fun to see everyone's special day.

Here's mine - 2001. I wore an Indian lengha choli (is that how you spell it? It's a separate skirt and blouse), and had my feet mahendi'd too

I liked bright colors then too -- each of my bridesmaids wore a different bright color - teal, vibrant purple and yellow.

Wow, we look young...

Thanks for making me dig up the happy memories!

So much fun - I love all the beautiful brides and grooms.
We married on the beach at sunrise in Hawaii in 2003 with just our immediate families and had our reception back home later that year (got to wear my dress twice!) Beaded flip flops on the beach and silk mules for dancing. We also had a Lao Buddhist ceremony the same day - which is why I have a wrist full of string bracelets (and a custom made outfit for that).
Thistle High five for Hawaiian wedding. My gown was silk hand beaded and on one leg of the trip they made me hold it on my lap (tiny plane) Super fun, but I wasn't trusting it to the hold.

A VERY therapeutic thread. Thanks!! LOVED your photos.

Classically Casual, your '60s frock and do was out of this world.

Raisin, I'm glad that you posted! So young and fab

Suz, you rustled up some gems! Of course you can post photos from both weddings. This is who you are and we adore you.

Ceit, how fitting to have had a med-evil wedding. Loving the shoestring budget. Why not!

Diana! You can post on this thread next time:)

Rae, I remember the scramble and it all worked out more than perfectly!

Nadya, how romantic and pretty

Diane G, of course you made your own day complete with complicated bustle!

Desmo, very romantic and exotic!

Henley, happy anniversary!!

Sarah, how woodsy and atmospheric!

Jeanne, lots of dress up on one day!! Beautiful.

Ali, you little vixen

*happy sigh*

Love this thread!!!! Here's mine. Pre-digital, so I just snapped a picture from an album.

It was 1988, I got married in something I had from my closet that I'd purchased in Mexico. Friends made our lovely cake, everybody made a layer and then a friend assembled it!

That's a frisbee on the table, filled with nuts and dried fruit.

I had a homemade wedding, planned in a month, coordinated by friends, and I loved it! So long ago!

Thanks for inspiring us to bring up happy memories, Angie!

1st marriage - 1974
I wore my mom's dress. It was not what I wanted but it made her happy. It was way too big and the lace was disintegrating.
No picture of the last one in 2009 but my grown children were there and that was wonderful!

This is the happiest thread I've seen. I love all the different styles of dresses and weddings - they are all so beautiful, and every bride is beautiful! I so wished we could have been married on a beach or in Vegas, but we wanted to include family who would have been unable to either attend or understand something like that, so I am really enjoying vicariously those types of weddings here!

Well I also don't have any digital images so took a quick snap of one of my favourites. Unfortunately my camera flash wouldn't turn off so this is quite bright and blurry.

I got married in 1987 - it was supposed to be 1984 but my husband was diagnosed with cancer three months before our wedding and we had to subsequently cancel. But when we did finally get married, it was all the much sweeter.

I wore a two piece ivory silk and lace suit with a sweetheart neckline, sheer lace long sleeves, and pearl buttons up the front with a bonnet-type hat with a veil off the back. We got married at a resort on Hecla Island, a small island in Lake Winnipeg, about 3 hours from my home town.

I love seeing all your dresses and hearing a bit about your wonderful day - you all look beautiful.

Such fun! I love seeing everyone's wedding pics!
My wedding was in August 1989, and I picked the dress that was on the cover of Modern Bride magazine. The dress came in blush pink, which was the color I really wanted to buy, but I decided to go the traditional route and purchase it in white (now I wish I had bought the blush pink!). I was way into '80's fashion, and this dress had the poofiest shoulders and the biggest bow on the butt ever! It was a mermaid style dress with rose and pearl appliques. My headpiece was also a big bouffant poof.
Sorry, the scanned quality is not that good!
I'm still waiting for the return of big hair...

So much fun seeing all this happy memories - thank you for sharing!
We also don't have digital pictures from out 1988 wedding so this is a very bad scan. My mom made my dress from some white curtain fabric and it was very simple with long sleeves and high neckline. At the time the wedding dresses in fashion were crinoline skirted ones with elaborated sleeves. When my friend came on the morning of the wedding my mom was still finishing the dress and it was on the hanger in the living room. My friend asked me if this was a slip for my dress - and I was so embarrassed to tell her that it was the dress itself! Well, I was only 20 then and easily embarrassed...:-)

So awesome. I love a wedding

This is the only photo I had easily accessible. Our photographer, my husband's first cousin (who is actually a professional photographer), asked us to be silly. Even though we have tons of beautiful photos, this is my absolute favorite because we are this silly all of the time! Happy Valentine's Day xo

Wow, this is great.
I sewed my own dress for $100 (it was the 80's) from icy white satin and a Dior Vogue pattern. Not bad for a "couture gown". We spent our money on the honeymoon. Money well spent

Tried to find a pic on my computer but no luck.

I LOVE weddings! This is such a fun thread!

We got married in June of 2003. We took many of our pictures in downtown Seattle at Pike Place Market. We are literally stopping traffic in #2!

I love weddings and wedding dresses! It's so much fun to see all your dresses and to get a glimpse of your special days!

I don't have digital photos, so the quality of these is not the best. I designed my dress as well. It was a narrowish a-line in off-white silk and covered completely with organza. Over that, I wore a long organza jacket with only 3 buttons so that it opened out as I walked. I struggled a bit with the seamstress to make it as streamlined as I wanted. I love the way it turned out, but could have done without a little more poof in the skirt. Nonetheless, I've always loved it.

I'm away from home, so I can't post my wedding pic (which was pure 80's Princess Diana froth), but I wanted to say how much I've enjoyed these! What a wonderful Valentine's Present!

You all look so beautiful, and I think in many elements of your current style preferences are evident:). Mine are pre digital too and it seems it one of about 4 boxes still unpacked from our last move so I'm afraid I can't post them. You have encouraged me to find them though..thanks.

I love seeing all the dresses! I don't think I've been around long enough to post mine, but have really enjoyed looking at everyone's pics.

March 22 2010 an absolute Traditional south indian wedding

All are unposed photos here

Ahhh - what a lovely thread to open up this morning!

My wedding was in April 2000 and we got married in a beautiful historic building in the middle of the Johannesburg CBD. I was all of 22.

My dress was based on a pattern I came across and modified and my dear MIL made for me. The details aren't clear in the pics but it was a skirt and top - the top was in satiny fabric and the skirt was a couple of layers of soft tulle. My veil was lovingly made by my sister in law.

#1 and #3 are posed photos but #2 and #5 are my favourites. They were taken during the speeches and I love our facial expressions.

What a great idea, Angie! I adore seeing everybody's dresses. So much beauty, happiness and anticipation.

We got married in 1996, and my dress is nothing like what I had in mind from the beginning. I was looking for something simple, with empire cut, and no sleeves. What I ended up with was more rococo - let's say I was persuaded to pick this one instead, but I felt very beautiful that day anyhow. I still think this dress wasn't really *me*, but I guess it was my arty streak that came across! It was a sunny, warm day in August, we had a church wedding with our friends and family, and I have so many fond memories from it. One of them is of the old veteran car - an Opel Cortina, I believe - my friend's Granddad had in his garage - it was brought out for the occasion and we drove it from church to the reception. So cool!

What a fun thread! I am not sure where our digitized photos are so here are two iphone snaps from our album. I was not into the wedding dress thing - this one is rented. But I was amused to see where my ambivalence about my recent silver jacket k/r came from! Meet my late grandmother - a force to be reckoned with at 84!

Shevia - that's so funny!!! But you both look beautiful....

These are so wonderful thank you everyone for sharing Reminds me I still have to go through some digital shots and do an album... 8 and half years later

Jules, I still need to put my 1997 honeymoon photos in an album!

I love this post and you are all breathtaking!

Here's mine. Lace sleeves and a Juliet Cap veil - 1980.

What a fun thread, thanks for sharing!
