I really enjoyed looking at this thread. It's fantastic how everyone looks amazing with such deverse style.

There are too many amazing, inspirational outfits for me to comment on right now, but how fun it is to see a little snapshot of everyone's style. I am attaching some favorites and (not coincidentally) were Angie and YLF approved, plus a couple of recent ones with coats for fun!

Oh, Shevia. You have Tomboy Elegance down in the most delightful RATE and urban way. Thrown together and it just works! I'm going to have to go with #3 as my all time best because of the story of the shoes!! but #1 and #4 are close seconds

Tracina, I'm going with #4, #5 and #7 as my all time faves! You look sensational in those outfits. I am WOW-ed

Lisa! #4 is going down as my all time best because mid calf boots are new for your style and because blue is not the focus of the outfit! So fun to see your wonderful blazer-stripe-boots-scarf looks again - with that cute smile

Amy, the fainting rests my arm so it's good.

This has been my first year on YLF and first as a blonde so has been a learning curve - thank you to everyone for listening and for Angie and everyone for what I have learned!...

#1Love this magenta wool jacket, worn with grey pants and top - get lots of compliments on this colour and again a work outfit that is not black
#2The colour, the style and silky texture of this top is again a big departure for me - but more importantly with my darling daughter at Christmas last week
#3 coloured jeans, woven top - perhaps a variation on one of Angies formulas and a big step up for me in casual wear, colours, styles!

Just getting to ge back again over everyone's outfits... JenAva - man I LOVE your style and colour palette - can I steal your wardrobe - think you are wearing my imaginary life!!!

This is so much fun! So great to see everyones fabulous style all in one place. Such a good reason to take WIW photos! Here are a few of my favorites this year.

Wow, it's almost too much fab-ness in one place! I so love seeing all your favorite outfits. As a newcomer to ylf, I found it a really helpful exercise to actually try to pick my favorite outfits of the couple of months I've taken pics - so here they are.

I picked these outfits because I remember feeling good in them, because I like the way that I looked in them tonight, and because they feel like "me", not me playing dress-up.

ETA:
Trends that I think I see developing in my outfits:
- I like woodsy a whole lot
- I like jackets too.

Hmm... I guess that's all I notice right now. Happy New Year everybody!

I have really enjoyed seeing everyone's favorites. Here are some of mine. The jeans in 4 were hemmed before wearing in public.
I want to take better pictures this year.

What a fun post! I've been checking this one off and on all day long, and I've so enjoyed seeing everyone's picks from 2012!

OK, Anna, #6? Hello! You look like an angel!

Love ALL of these. Esp. #8, #7, #14, and #20

Oh, wow. I am loving seeing everyone's outfits! Am sad I cannot post my own until tomorrow when I get beck to my laptop and photo library. (but I am enjoying looking at all the pics in this thread at the airport right now!)

This is such a cool thread! Thanks Angie... and it was the catalyst to sit down and organise all my outfits properly in one place ...hence I haven't read all the posts yet, but I promise I will:)

I can honestly say that thanks to YLF I was happy with all my outfits, even the ones that didn't totally hit the mark were still make me happy because I was being challenged to step out of my comfort zone.

Looking at my pictures I feel I have achieved my 2012 goals of (1) bringing more color (particularly blue) into my wardrobe and (2) sucessfully lightening up my black.

These are in no particular order but here are some of my faves:)

Happy New Year.

WOWIE ZOWIE! Hello all you beautiful FAB'ers!!

I had so much fun with fashion this year, it was hard to narrow down the favorites!

Even though I spent most of my clothing budget on my dominant summer season, my favorite outfits are mostly fall and winter looks. I wonder if I'll ever have a year in which most of my favorites will be summer wear? Although I did learn that tissue thin draped cardis and lightweight vests still allow me to layer in the heat. Yay!

I don't feel my style has changed at all. I still enjoy color, prints, layers, and feminine frills.

I did dabble in a few trends: neon (earrings in #11), burgundy (#12 & #19), dark green (#15 & #20), faux fur (#19), and cropped pants (#16).

Looking forward to our shared stylish adventures in 2013!

Wow, what a treasure trove of inspiration! Gorgeous looks from everyone and I love seeing everyone's unique style. I am so lucky to be a part of this wonderful community!

This was a really big year for me fashion-wise! It was my first full year at YLF--I joined in the Summer of 2011, so I became a Veteran this August. I learned so much from seeing everyone's WIWs and getting feedback on my own WIW's and K/R's.

This year I figured out my style rubric:
Color or contrast
Matchy Matchy
Patterned
Fitted
Flair

All of these outfits fit the above rubric and I felt fab and happy wearing all of them. I know there a bunch of favorite outfits here, but I had to edit heavily just to get down to 30, so that says something about how happy I am with my clothes!

Besides my primary style persona (Demure Bombshell), I also realized I have a shadow persona--I like to dabble in polished UWP looks once in a while as well. My style is very ladylike (I wear mostly skirts and dresses) and I tend to be a bit on the maximal/ALGO side--my favorite quote this year was from MaryK who said about one of my outfits "anything worth doing is worth doing to excess"! This year I am really into pattern and texture mixing as well as hypermatchy looks (like 5, 8, 9, 21, 27 and 29) and I love polka dots, orange, ink blue, and burgundy. And I still love to match my handbag, shoes and accessories to my outfit. I also purged and organized my closet this year which was huge.

But the biggest fashion change this year by far was becoming pregnant and dealing with the anxieties and challenges of re-working my wardrobe to fit my changing body. I had to adapt both my wardrobe and my attitude about maternity dressing, but am happy to report that I've been able to stretch (literally, LOL) my pre-maternity wardrobe and limit new purchases mostly to stretchy non-maternity pieces which can be worn after baby as well. I really have not had to wear my old pre-YLF maternity clothes much and only bought a couple of key new maternity pieces (like a pair of burgundy maternity skinnies, which was one of my best purchases this year). I am amazed that I am still able to wear a lot of my old wardrobe. Because of this, I am sporting more fitted/bodycon silhouettes and am embracing/highlighting the bump. Even while pregnant, I am still feeling fab and am having more fun with fashion than ever before! Looking forward to even more growth and style evolution in 2013!

Thank you to Angie and all of YLF for your help and inspiration! Here's to another stylishly fab year for everyone in 2013!

1-8. Jan-May Pre-pregnancy
9-14. June-Aug First trimester-hiding the bump
15-26. Sept-Nov Second trimester-embracing the bump
27-30. Dec Third trimester-flaunting the bump

Wow Angie, what an amazing thread-a board of true, real life pin-spirations:-)!
Thanx for starting it!
I'lI have to work on this (both reading/tacking notes from others fabulous outfits and eventually elaborating mines) as now off to a brunch, but will come later if having some spare time, and thread still in!:-)

Oh such fun thread. My first year of WIW's in YLF. I have a long way to go but " Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". My first step towards style.

Wow, I am overwhelmed with all these amazing photos -- everyone looks stunning, and it is so great to see you all here together!

Mona, you look stunning and you are WAY too hard on yourself -- these are SENSATIONAL looks and very clearly show a strong sense of style!

Natalie, what fun to see your style and pregnancy develop this year. You have such infectious enthusiasm and I would say that this year you really took Angie's dictum to heart and wore the heck out of your beautiful clothes! I am so in love with #29!!!! I want to steal that look.

AJ, great to see you post! All your outfits are stellar, and such variety! I especially love #1, #16, #18.

Deborah, your refined elegance cannot be improved upon; you have a very coherent style and it WORKS! I would say that this year you have also successfully developed your casual style so that it is more "you" and yet still casual. These are all amazing looks but my personal favourites are 6, 10 (faint worthy!!) , and 12.

Anna, you are always an inspiration. I love the way your style softened a bit this year and brightened, with the addition of colour, while at the same time retaining its up-to-the-minute integrity. My faves are 15, 17, 18, and 19.

Deb, you have great style - I love your K/R posts because invariably you are wondering about something that is absolutely current and looks FAB on you! LOVE #1 here. I am also remembering a couple of other looks from this year, not represented in your list here.

Amiable, your screen name is so apt; it describes your personality! You have so much enthusiasm for learning and are such a kind and thoughtful contributor. My faves are 1, 2, and 3!

Carole, whoa - you look absolutely sensational in every one of these - impossible to pick!! Such easy elegance; I need to study at your school for beautiful casual looks. My absolute faves - 1, 4, 7, 8. WOW!!!

Jenanded - you look STUNNING in that turquoise - so lovely! And your daughter is beautiful!

Shevia - adore your style!! Those new booties are just the ticket, too -- perfect for you. Especially loving 1, 3, 4, 7.

Tracina - it's so great to see you post here. Adoring 2, 3, 4, and 5. Love how you can rock a dress and trousers equally well. And I remember your struggles with that plaid dress -- and the triumph when you finally got it!

Mo - love every one but special faves are 6, 8, and of course, 9! You have mastered the art of dressing with elegance in a hot climate - not easy. One I need to pay attention to for my summers.

Isis, TOTALLY in love with #1. I love your menswear inspired looks.

Amy - I ADORE 1, 3, 4, 5, 7!!! You are far too hard on yourself. You have developed a very distinctive look - classic, with a bit of drama and romance.

Deb - still love #4 but #6 is AMAZING!!! I remember when you posted that one…

Zap, I don't know how to choose. These are all fantastic. But I'm especially drawn to 1, 2, and 6. You have an elegance that transmits whether your dressed casually or in business attire.

Kirti, I just love your smile and your use of colour. Absolute faves are 5, 7, and 9! Gorgeous!!!!

Ceit, it has been so cool to watch your style refine itself (or RATE itself, I guess!) My faves are 2, 4, 7, 9, and 12. Stellar looks!!

Denise, where do I start? You are a style icon, whose looks have inspired me in a VERY serious way this year. I am so grateful for your example and hope to learn more from you!

Day Vies, every one of these is gorgeous, but my absolute fave is #5. You are a fabulously stylish woman!

Karie, absolutely LOVING #1 and #4. Fantastic on you!

Morethanbeige, I think if you look closely you will see that your K/R threads are often better than most people's WIW!! Seriously, your looks are always fab. My faves here are 1, 2, and 5. Beautiful

Krish, you look absolutely SENSATIONAL in every one of these. Your style is evolving to be less boho-funky, more urban chic. And you look amazing. I especially love #2, #3 and the last look. WOW!!

Ornella, I want to steal every one of these but my special faves are 4, 7, and 8!

Runnerchick, you are a great addition to this forum, with your gorgeous long legs that go on forever and your casual colour blocking! Love 7 and 8!!

Caro, you're an inspiration! These are all great looks and I especially enjoy the reminders of your winter style now that you are into summer there. My absolute faves are 6 and 8!

Debora - I miss your posts and LOVE your outfits. Especially adore #2, #5, (yay for denim jacket!) and #6!

Jeneva, you have developed such incredible richness and elegance to your style. I want to come and raid your closet. I ADORE your colour palette and your individual pieces and talk about flattering. WOW. #6 and #9 are just so beautiful on you!!!

Lisa, I am still drooling over that jacket in #4 -- you look sensational in that outfit!

Love this post! Have just spent the last 30 minutes opening all the photos and am totally blown away. This is so inspiring! Everyone has their own unique sense of style and it all works beautifully! Perhaps the web site needs to be renamed: "WE LOOK FAB!"
Can't thank everyone enough for their kind comments and suggestions throughout the year, it is so wonderful to have such a supportive community of friends- all the best in 2013!

More stunning outfits! WOW!

Jenanded, you have a knack for choosing very flattering colours for your complexion. I can't pick a fave between those wonderful looks!

Carol, such natural statuesque grace. I love it! You've posted KILLER looks, but am going with #3, #6 and #8 as my best! Do you ever rock a pair of skinnies.

Amiable, I've got to go with the duck boots in #2 and the glorious "80s rendition in #10 as my best of your round up

So glad you posted, DebbieK! All your outfits are KILLER! But if I had to go with my best, it's #2. So elegant and refined - just like your sweet heart of gold.

Anna! You entered the world of pastels and colour and I love it! I'm going with #4, #8, #12 #14 and #19 as the ones that really whack it out of the ballpark. LOVING you in those head to toe florals! So fun and trendy

Deborah! You chic little dressy and gorgeous lady :). It's hard to pick a fave from your absolutely sensational looks but my word do I love #6, #8, #9 and #12 with every style fibre in my being. Can you hear my happy sighing?

AJ, lovely to see you again :). Your outfits are always so creative and happy! Lots of colour, accessories and fun juxtapositions. I'm going with #2, #3, #7, #11 and #19.

Natalie, you have KILLER maternity style, I can barely stand it. You should have modeled maternity wear. I am in awe of all your outfits!

Mona, fantastic casual looks! Your hair is AMAZING!! I'm going with #2, #5 and #6 my favourites. Relaxed, pretty and fashionable.

Wow, what a fun and inspiring thread!

I really wore the heck out of my turquoise watch from the Rack -- that turned out to be a strangely practical purchase.

My favorite parts of 2012 were my summer beach vacation with hubby and our rescue kitten, George. Angie, thanks for recommending the Freya bikinis -- I loved wearing them, even at 47 with my bifocal prescription sunglasses, ha! (And yes, hubby and I were totally goofing with our beach poses.)

You all inspire me every day. Happy New Year, everyone!

These are all just staggering! AJ, it's so nice to see you again!!

Here are mine! I picked one per month, except two of my favorite outfits were in March (3 and 4) and I couldn't resist including them both!

This thread is a real evidence how utterly fab YLF members are! I wish it was an easy way to pin pictures from this thread to my Pinterest board because they are really inspirational! This thread is marked as a favorite for future inspiration.
Here are some of my favorites of the year. Angie, I am sure you will have a few chuckles due to overwhelming number of trouser outfits here but it is OK. I am really ecstatic that in spite of my fit challenges I can have fun with trousers and jeans - that was the best part of 2012 fashion wise.

Now that I have access to my photos again, here are mine! This set is slightly weighted toward the second half of the year (photos 5-13 are from june-december) but I also posted more WIW posts during that time.

This year I developed an obsession with jackets (buying 8 of them), continued to be in love with boots, wore baggy britches, semi-tucked with frequency, and generally tried to move toward a more grown-up, sophisticated style while still keeping my arty touches.

ETA: Seeing all my favorites together makes it quite clear that I have a strongly preferred color palette! (I swear I actually do own things in warm colors, LOL.)

I've got to spend some time studying these and being inspired. I was sad to see how few photos I took this past year. Fashion took a backseat to life in 2012 and I think I would enjoy a better balance this year. All in all, I'll have to go with the MaxMara jumpsuit I bought with my family in Rome last spring. A great trip with great memories.

Kyle -- I hope to see more of your outfits in 2013! You, Anna, Jenava and Kari are the members that inspired me in my style journey when I first joined 2 years ago. The jumpsuit is so fab!!!!!! I wish I had the height/lifestyle to pull one off.

What an amazing collection of fabulous looks! Such inspiration in just a few pages!

This was my first year here and I posted very few WIW photos so I don't have pictures of my favorite outfits. But I will challenge myself to take more as I work to solidify my look.

Happy New Year and thank you for the inspiration!

Wow! It's great to see everyone's outfit collections - you get a much greater sense of each of our individual styles. It's fascinating to see how people keep their own style intact across various seasons, and with the addition of new trends. And I love that the larger photo sets show us how their style has evolved within the year, while still remaining very coherent.

I didn't find myself in front of the camera as often as I intended for 2012, but I'm far more likely to take photos of my favourites so I actually have a few I can add. Goal for 2013: Take more pictures, and do something about my hair!!
