Why they are your favourites is absolutely up to you. I'll go first - in no particular order:

Each outfit here, for different reasons, has a happiness factor of 11 out of 10. And the happiness-factor of an outfit wins hands down no matter what.

Your love of trousers has been very strong this year Angie. I really loved the look with the white trousers and light blue oxford shirt and of course the lace top and skirt combination is so elegantly retro I could cry.

Anne, the dress is a real head turner.

Oh, Merwoman. What a delight to see your KILLER causal outfits here. So polished and relaxed. Hard to do! You wear skinnies as well as BF's and trousers.

I don't have all my pics from this year since my computer crashed, but that's fine because I'm most enamoured with my outfits post-banking anyhow. Seems like 2012 was the Year of the Baggy Bottom!

I'm glad that you could isolate your post-bank style from bank-style, Rae! Your looks KILLER :). My favourites are #7, #8 and #10. Just so perfect. Simpler I guess - which appeals to me personally. And I LOVE the new short hair!!

Oh my word, Jamie! KILLER looks! Don't forget your lace dress!! #5 and #6 whack it out of the ballpark. But #7 made me faint.

I just adore this thread. Loving this retrospective of fabness, and coming back to read and comment as soon as I post my own.

I had a *really* hard time choosing. That's partly because I tend to photograph the ones with a high happiness factor.

So I looked for something from each season and those that *really* stood out for me as style-defining.

Discovery: It is AH-MAZING how much I have learned from and benefitted from YLF collective wisdom and shopping examples.

1. Spring book launch. Had so much fun in this thrown-together-at-the-last-second outfit.

2. First experiments in pattern mixing.

3/4; Favourite summer dress and skirt. The skirt is an example of a good consignment find.

5. My fave outfit of the whole year, thanks to CocoLion (Denise) whom I copycatted for this one.

6. Angie copycat in late summer.

7. Summer-into-fall -- the discovery of taupe as my new neutral, and slouchy sweaters as a silhouette I can seriously get behind.

8. WritersFest reading -- thanks to Mary K for the scarf!

9. My first K2K rating from Angie! Easy elegance.

10. Rescue of a "mistaken" purchase. Love the colour, not crazy about the tunic, but happiness factor for the outfit ended up being very high. Waving to Shannon, my skirt twin!

11. Blogger Copycat (Atlantic-Pacific). I wore this with my VC colourblock pea coat on top. Surprisingly fun and easy to wear.

12. Another Atlantic-Pacific copycat look.

13. Casual autumn.

14. Dawn of the slouchy trousers era. Coming soon more regularly to a theatre near me.

15. Slouchy again!

16. New booties! Thanks to YLF Claudia for helping me to these!!

17. ETA: How could I forget IN THEORY - from head to toe, almost....my Theory trench, thanks to BJ, a theory sweater, Theory moto trousers....I love this brand!!

18. ETA for Anna! Thanks for the New Year's inspiration!! Man Repeller, here I come.

Thanks everyone for a fantastic year. Looking at these outfits I can see where I've been and where I want to go and for the first year I feel a real style developing. Happiness factor? Through the moon!

I have to admit it wasn't my year for style but I did manage to find a couple of good dresses (grey lace and striped Bailey 44), and the Anyi Lu booties and Bernardo scuba jacket I'm wearing in these pics were fab NAS recommendations from Angie. BF jeans have been my thing all year - the striped Vince top and BF jeans with Anyi Lu booties typify my look.

I include a Mother's Day pic of my mom, sister-in-law and I at brunch and a bonus close-up of my beautiful mom and I. Oh, and I threw in a pic of Laura's House of Boys, as I lovingly call the males in my life -- handsome husband with our two young sons. What goofballs!

I don't know where to begin commenting on all the fabness above. All of you are such incredible inspirations!

Looking through my outfit photos from the past year was unfortunately cringe-inducing at times. (Experiments gone awry--but I learned something.) Luckily, I found some outfits to restore my faith in myself. Also, I'm glad I let my hair grow out. I don't have what it takes to keep a short 'do looking good.
