Poll: How many sunglasses do you own?

I'm pretty sure I am going to have more than many of you, but I'm trying to pare down my sunglasses collection. How many do you have? Do you have ones for certain seasons? Do you see them as part of your style or as mostly functional? Do you change them according to your outfit?

Thanks, ladies! I'm trying to determine what a more "normal" number is as I think I have too many!!

Ha. You know what, Michelle, my old roommate Jeannie (who was blind) wore them! Just for fun but I swear she had one or two pairs!

Just ONE great pair of Ray Bans, because they are prescription and pretty expensive! I hope to add more eventually...

I have many designer sunnies. Yes, some go with certain outfits:)
They are an accessory for me. I am not giving a number till you go first:)

I have one pair. They were disgustingly expensive and I don't think they're the right shape for my face... but I still wear them because I paid so much for them. Stupid mistakes of my youth.

Michelle, you are so funny! I have prescription sunglasses so only have two pair. One is darker than the other.

Zero, at the moment. My temples are pretty wide so it's hard to find sunglasses that I like that also don't pinch my face.
I won't spend more than $15 on a pair of sunglasses because of how many pairs I've dropped and broken in the past.

Mine are prescription, so just 1 pair. I am always worried that I am going to lose them, so I should probably invest in another pair.

2 pairs at the moment, but I don't like either pair! My favorite pair--a pair I found on sale at ATL for under $15--broke a few months ago, and I haven't been able to find anything else like them. I bought another pair at ATL out of desperation, but they are too rectangular for my face, and I still haven't even removed the tags from them yet. Fortunately, they were on sale for cheap. I stay in the $12-$30 range with sunglasses because I know myself well enough to know I'll either lose them or break them.

I have a small, narrow, oval-shaped face, but a rather large nose, so as you can imagine, it's hard to find a pair that works with my features. The oversized Jackie O sunglasses just overwhelm my face, and I also have an aversion to those blingy sunglasses with garish logos, hardware or rhinestones. Ironically, right now I'm wearing an old pair of Fossil sunglasses that I found in a drawer that are studded with rhinestones, which is why I tossed them in a drawer to begin with. I'm in a place of desperation because I need something that will shield against the sun's glare when I'm driving!

2 pairs - one prescription, one not. Yay me! I have shown RESTRAINT!
(Actually I have a narrow face and it's just about impossible to find sunnies that fit my head. I only buy them when I lose or break them and can't possibly avoid it.)

1 pair in brown. I'd like to get a second pair in a dark grey or blue, but my head is a bit small all around, which isn't noticeable until I try on glasses and find that they're all too wide and the arms are several inches too long. It makes shopping for them more of a chore than I can be bothered with.

I think 3. I have a cheapo scratched up pair I wear to the pool since they usually fall in at some point, a big oversized pair for fun I bought on clearance at Kohl's last year, and an expensive pair given to me as a freebie. I never thought I could handle a pricey pair because I tend to break or lose sunglasses like crazy, but the nicer glasses have held up well.

I usually end up wearing whichever pair I can find at the time, rather than what goes with my outfit.

I think I have two - one prescription and one non-prescription. I got my prescription pair from Zenni optical, so I should probably just get another pair - they're not all that flattering, but cheap.

One pair is my running and biking pair

2 pair stay in the car and are my "nice" sunnies (not expensive, just flattering)

and there is another pair laying in the laundry room... I keep meaning to toss them but actually I'll keep them so I don't have to dig the others out of the car when I want to go outside to water. I cannot spend more than 30 seconds outside on a sunny day without sunglasses.

2. My Jigsaw ones stay in my handbag and I wear them all the time, the second ones I keep in the car, they have narrow arms so are easier to wear if I'm wearing my bluetooth headset x

6 - 1 Arnette, 1 Oakley cute and look good on my face, but the metal hurts my nose after awhile & they are scratched, 1 Electric expensive & I was only into them for a couple of seasons, 2 fake D&G that I wear all of the time, 1 Target cheapie that is perfect for the beach

2 - one that is ok, and one that is pretty awful but will keep my eyes from burning out if I can't find the other pair. I need to get more... it's always sunny in Tucson.

I own 2 pairs: one pair of black Marc Jacobs, and one pair of brown/tortoise Fendi glasses.

I alternate them according to my outfit of the day.

See? I told you I was out of control! I'm not sure I even counted my athletic glasses, of which I can think of at least 3. Thanks ladies for taking my poll and cofirming this!

I went through a big sunglasses buying period about five years ago, but have only bought 2 pair since. Taylor, you are the only person who even comes close, with Chellebrate a bit behind.

I only have one face! With the exception of my sports glasses and my favorite driving pair, nothing is really about function all that much. I know what thread is coming up this week...help me weed out the glasses!!

I never bought expensive sunglassess, because it seemed I was always losing them in the river. I caved a few years ago and haven't lost a pair since. It's sunny much of the time in AZ, so I wear mine year round.

We must protect our eyes!! That's part of it, I basically can't be outside in daylight without them on. I don't lose them, which is a good thing - somehow when you've spent a lot on them it's easier to hang on to them, isn't it, Chell?

Rosie, Chellebrate and Taylor - I think you ladies get to have more sunnies than those of us in northern climes. It does get sunny in the winter but it's hard to wear sunglasses when one is already bundled up to high heaven against the cold. At least, I can't pull it off most of the time. I have just two but I'm sure if I lived a lot further south than New England, I'd have more.

One pair. They are prescriptive and cost an arm and a leg. But worth every penny as long as I don't lose them.

I only have 2 pairs and both are pricey. Fortunately I don't tend to loose sunglasses and often have them 5 years or more. I won't compromise on the quality of the lens after having eye surgery a few years ago. My everyday pair are a very dark lens pair of Maui Jims. My eye surgeon said they make the best polarized lens in the business (that was a few years back though). A second pair of Bolles, for running only, also polarized. I love the look of more stylish pairs, but I won't compromise the lens for the look.
