PMWIW: To get out and vote! Challenge 2: new photo location!

I'm trying out my front room...the lighting is great! Please ignore the boxes, I think we will be unpacking for awhile! Off to buy a remote for my camera today, today's pic was with my iPhone which turned out quite well considering the balancing act it took

AnnTaylor vest in Midnight. The cut feels a little odd on but I like the look! JCrew cotton turtleneck, Blanc jeans, Gap Chelsea boots (very soft leather and nice fit, no insole padding.)

Thanks for looking, commenting and any helpful suggestions!
PS. Can I get away with wearing a short denim jacket for outside and call it artful layering or does it just look goofy? Be honest.

I like the vest, but not under the jacket. The two jackets seem to hang in different directions.

what a lovely view from your yard....l really like the outfit in #1, and i love the denim jacket with the leather sleeves, but i'm not a fan of them layered together...maybe if the colors had more contrast.

And good for you for trying the photo challenge... I'm probably going to sit that one out, my home life is too hectic during the week (not to mention the light is disappearing) to start playing!

Thank you for you honest opinions everyone! I know it was an "off" look. Mid length coats are a hole in my wardrobe.

Pintrest worthy, IMO. Love the elements of this. I like the layering...if you like it and wear it with confidence it will be fab and not goofy at all!

The booties with the distressed jeans are AWESOME, and I like the monochrome turtleneck/long sweater combo up top...I may have to duplicate this look.

PS, in the second pic it looks like you are in the San Juans!

Jenava and Angie- I'll be honest, I wear this kind of combo all of the time...being a child of the 80's I have a love for denim jackets. I definitely have a glut of them in my closet! Jenava, it may look like San Juan, but it still feels like MN...high of 45F today. It is pretty when the sun shines though!
