Caro in Oz

This is round one.
#1 after my shower but no make up hair not done. It's still cold in the mornings so I'm wearing a cashmere hoodie.
#2 changed my shoes & jacket to run errands
#3 is day two (today) going to look for some material to try to make a top as I have the urge to start sewing again.

You look adorable in that hoodie! Love the slip on sneakers, too. And look how versatile these pants are; I can equally see them all dressed up for a party.

OK, wow. So, I read in one of your previous posts that you are a Soft Autumn as am I! I started following you on Pinterest - great posts by the way. I have wondered what you look like, how you wear your colors (colours- haha). So it's great to finally see you! I am loving the teal - one of my favorite colors. Are those black pants or navy? I have been dutifully following my colors but this year decided to just cave and incorporate black. What was I thinking before? I feel so liberated. I guess I'm just a rule follower and some color analysis person told me to never wear black. Do you find Soft Autumn being sometimes too boring or restricting?

Sarah these pants are blue - a dark denim colour. I bought the blue ones this (past) winter but I have a black pair from a couple of winters ago too I don't usually duplicate but I love these so much.

I don't find the soft autumn colours boring at all - in fact I love them. I'm a neutrals girl at heart & soft autumn has all the neutrals I could ever want. They are harder to find than black but other than that I'm very happy.

The other funny thing is the only colours I really love are soft coral/brick red & teal so I'm right at home with these colours too. Sometimes I think it is impossible to not have some black in our wardrobes but I'm working on it How long ago did you have your colours done?

sporty luxe at its best! thought the slip on sneakers look was the best, but then i saw the fab shoes in #2, and well its a toss up, they're both great, and a reminder what a small change can make to an entire outfit.

Hi caro -
I had my colors done maybe 10 years or so ago so I've been at this for a while. Before that I was classified as a Summer under the 4 season system but that never felt quite right. I also love the soft autumn colors and am naturally attracted to them but they can be hard to find in the Winter,spring and summer. What I'm struggling with lately is how to wear contrast and statement pieces. Hmmm.. Maybe I think statement pieces means higher contrast? Now that I'm analyzing your super fab outfits, I see what you've done is to wear low contrasting colors, but a tad higher contrast to your own coloring and wear statement shoes and the cuts of the clothing. I'm just thinking and typing "out loud".

Janet - I love your footwear too & yes they are the Via Spiga sneakers
The topper is a slightly coated linen - unlined. It is fantastic for a lot of our weather I can layer under it or just wear it with a tank on hotter days.
Sarah - I was labelled a Spring under the old system which never worked for me (now I see why duh). Yes statement shoes and the cut of my clothing is how I make a look "me". I'm drawn to fairly avant garde pieces but thanks to Angie I'm learning to ground them with some great classics which makes for a really fun wardrobe.
