Here's my second contribution. I thought I'd take the pictures today when I'm wearing my favourite outfit of the moment. It just makes sense to get some better pictures.

I've moved my picture taking spot to the kitchen, where I have much brighter lamps (my whole flat is rather dark). It was quite the hassle to take the pictures though, I had to move some stuff to make the free space. My flat is small and it's difficult to find a spot so that the tripod is far enough away for a full length picture. And there was nothing for the autofocus to catch with the white wall (no remote-control release).

Anyway, I did manage it... Hair is still slightly damp, but I wanted to take the pictures now instead of in the evening. I'll have to hurry now... sorry to post and run.

Thanks Ramya! It's not a jersey, but wool. I bought it in Scotland this summer. And yes, I totally love my side part too. It made such a difference.

I know that *nothing to catch with autofocus* issue! I used to move DS's bike to the wall, focus, click on timer, run, move bike and pose like nothing happened lol!

Thanks Neel! I used one of my kitchen chairs. But of course that isn't quite the best method, it would have been better to have something on level with my face... I was just thinking that I could have used the open door, then close it then place myself in the spot. If that works it might be possible to permanently move my spot, it would be nice to get more accurate pictures after all.

Thanks Meredith! The way things are now placed would work too, so I think I could continue to take my pics in this spot, if I figure something out for the autofocus. I'd have to move my laundry basket before I take pics, but that's easy.

Classic Astrid! Love it, of course. You look terrific!

If you like this spot you can try putting a little piece of colored tape (or something similar) on the wall. That worked well for me the one time I tried to do pictures with my dslr.

Lovely colour on you Astrid, and thanks for taking the trouble to find a new spot. It is difficult, I know. Our house has tiny rooms and it can also be very hard to get a good full length shot, which is why I always default to the same place. I used to do it in the kitchen but the yellow walls are death to my complexion and interfered with colours even more than the green wall of our bedroom. And no neutral walls anywhere!

I should have a motto. Neutrals: wear them, don't decorate with 'em.

I can see why this is your favourite outfit: it looks great on you! And so cosy. I want to steal it.

Since I moved, I've been too lazy to bother w doing my remote, so I'm back to using the self-timer. If I switch my focus to the face one, I usually end up in focus, through some kind of camera magic. Have you tried that?

Suz, I just moved in to newly painted white walls and never changed it. But even without colored walls it's difficult. Before my closet is definitely the easiest, but the better pictures might be worth the move into the kitchen. We'll see.

Thanks Eva! I'll have to try that, maybe it makes a difference. I don't even have a remote. I never needed it before, I just used the self timer. I don't think the original one for my camera is even available anymore, although I guess I'd find a solution if I would look into it.
