I LOVE hearing all your stories. I makes me feel so connected to all the other mommas out there! Deborah, I, too, am a late baby-haver at 35, so the friends in my life who want kids pretty much have them by now (a minority, TBH), and bless their souls, they are giving us lots of tips. I don't mind that, though, as I've always been the type to want to hear all about other's experiences, and I don't take their advice personally...I recognize that it's just their way of sharing their experiences and I love it. It helps me decide what I'd like to do, and makes me feel like I have more insight into what the future might hold than otherwise...but I feel more like, "hm, I wonder how I will handle that situation" than, "oh, gosh, I better do it exactly like Xyz friendly momma." (Ok, with the exception of getting your kids vaccinated and other strongly supported by science things...I have a hard time holding my tongue r.e. that stuff).
I guess at heart I am just very stubborn in marching to my own drummer; I've always been like that, but I try not to shove it in ppls face because I want everyone around me to feel free to do the same...so sometimes people don't realize how completely stubborn and obstinate I can be once I've made up my mind about something! My husband is something of an angel, TBH.
R.e. the questions about nesting - some ladies get a big surge of energy right before they go into labor....it's supposed to be a sign of approaching labor (along with diarrhea and bloody show. Ah, gotta love pregnancy. No dignity will be left after this.)
The boots are like slippers once they're on, but I did have to spend about 10 mins putting them on (they don't zip to the top! why? why?) so they stayed on ALL DAY even though I usually take my shoes off in the house.
Marlene, a friend at work had the exact same thing happen to her! LOL. Oh, geez, my house is such a wreck, I'm definitely not ready to go into labor quite yet. But I've promised myself that I'll be ready by next week, just to ease my mind. I am 80% certain I'll go late, but you just never know!!!
Bella, whoo hoo for sleeping in!!! Although, sleep hasn't been so great for me lately. I've been resorting to half of a Unisom (do they have that where you are?) some nights when I just can't stand to stay awake any longer. I'm having a boy...what about you? Do you know the gender of your baby?
