Ornella was my Secret Santa and she gave me this wonderful pair of plaid tights. I couldn't wait to wear them!

Pic #1 - Plaid tights from Ornella, pencil skirts - JCP, blazer - Target, Mural bomber jacket, loafers - Trotters, denim jacket - American Eagle. The blazer is a one-button style, and the button is black with a gold trim. That, combined with the plaid tights and loafers gave this outfit a fun, preppy feel so my happiness factor was high. I thought that the Mural bomber and teal skirt gave the middle outfit a bit more of a funky feel, and I liked that too. My faded denim jacket is a favorite that hasn't been seeing much wear, so it was nice to wear it again.

#2 - Although I'm tired of black and gray, I do love this skirt which has some metallic silver threading through it. The gray band on the skirt and the gray blazer aren't an exact match, but I thought they went well enough together. The tights in #3 are the ones I'm wearing in #2, and they have black studs on them. My black booties were a Christmas gift from DH.

#4 - ICK! One of my style goals is to wear more color, so out came this outfit - and most of it is headed straight for the donation pile! The sweater is a cocoon style and I think it looks mega frumpy (I only wore it a short while as I was warm, thank goodness), the brown button-down collects lint so bye-bye to the shirt, and the only thing I'm keeping is the brown and navy houndstooth trousers. They are my one-and-only pair of trousers, as trousers just never seem to fit me correctly. I think I'll let the hem out slightly in these - it's long but I'd like it a little longer so I can wear them with my new brown booties (another Christmas gift from DH).

Any styling suggestions, especially for the fun-to-wear plaid tights and the studded tights, is greatly appreciated!
