Plaid - Glitz - Boots ... I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK!

I was feeling playful this morning, so I decided to try my first take on Angie's blog post of plaid-glitz-boots (PGB) formula.

I had a blast putting these elements together. It was fun playing dressup, and channeling my inner lumberjack. This is DH's lumberjack shirt, nice and structured in a warm wool blend. It was fun just wearing his shirt, like a man-hug. I just recently bought this confetti-sequined t-shirt at H&M, and I have been trying various outfits with it, but I never imagined it with plaid! Angie, you rock my world, thank you!

In all honesty, I don't think I would wear this in public. I felt like I was trying too hard. Although I am a brave, goofy nut and very friendly, I think my fashion vibe is rather modest. How boring, but it's true. I am simple, and I look best and feel most confident in simple looks. Therefore I feel this look is just a bit too much for me.

But I'm not going to give up. I have a pencil skirt and a denim jacket that I will try my sequins with next. I'm also gonna try some straighter jeans so I can tuck them into the boots to reveal the boots' toughness in all their glory.

I see a version of this look every day, just not with the sequinned shirt! I think it's fun, though I have a bit of poison eye for it, since it's hard to distinguish "I meant to wear my husband's shirt" from "My husband and I share a wardrobe" up here.

I love those boots with the jeans. Superb fit and length. Your sparkly top is cute too - how about un-tucking it over the jeans?

Your hubs was generous to offer his plaid shirt to you - and you had me chuckling when you shared that with us on today's blog post. It's a little big for lovely you, but the concept is sweet. A fitted silhouette will make all the difference.

I love the sequin top and bootcut jeans on you! I agree with Angie, untuck the top. (And I actually love the look of hubby's big, untucked plaid shirt. But -- if picking whose advice to listen to, I think you know the answer!)

Coco! Your comments are so kind. You should try it yourself, I think you could rock a big untucked plaid skirt with some of your great skinnies. The silhouette is very comfy, I must say.

Love the creativity here, Julie! We learn alot when we play around in the closet and try something new! I agree that the top would be fab untucked. It's quite a versatile piece! This look would also work with the jeans and a slouchy sweater.
