Pink or blue parka? ETA: white parka photo

Below you'll see a couple of gear coats.
Would appreciate thoughts on colours (one's on the purple end of navy, and the other is a pinky-purple). The pink is unusual but not a neutral and not a cheerful colour, or one that can even be paired with a chearful colour. BUT, I think it's a nice colour on me, and it's light.

The navy can be paired with any cheerful colour. That is the main draw of the navy.

I'm also considering the white one in Finds.

I'm not having strong emotional reactions to any coats and I'm not sure if this is to be expected when trying on parkas.

ETA: white parka pics. The A-line cut makes it look a bit bigger than the straighter navy and pink ones. I don't mind.

I prefer the pink to the navy. I understand the constraints inherent with this particular pink, but I still prefer it to the navy.

Navy all the way, or white. Either will look great with bright colors, and is livelier than the pink.

Smittie, with your figure you can wear most anything, but I think these colors are not the answer. The blue is a bit too...practical, if you know what I mean--too predictable to be fun. The pink would get grubby fast. What about those pale gray parkas you were considering? Those had a more sophisticated look, I think. Why shouldn't your parka make you happy?

I would choose the blue one. But what about the white one? Why aren't you getting what your heart desires? Didn't you get enough assurance that it's doable?

ETA: a light color is safer on a stormy day, so there's that.

I had a strong emotional reaction to my parka when I finally found it after looking for 3 or 4 years! It was burnt orange and I love that colour. But I don't think it is always the case with a parka.
If I were to pick one of the three that you have shown I would go with the navy.

I think you should pick one that gives you a happy feeling - if neither of these colors does that, I would keep looking. Although they both look nice in these pics and the pink works well with your complexion.

From a visual standpoint, these parkas are not doing it for me.
From a warmth and practicality standpoint, they are. For example, the hood is really nice and big and can be clamped down around the face so that it doesn't fly off. The outer shell is a really nice soft goretex and the down fill is high quality so you don't need as much (less puffy).

I would choose a neutral color unless you already have winter accessories to go with the pink. That said, I think pink would be lovely with light knits and brown or grey boots.

Hmm, I prefer the navy in this case. Generally I would prefer pink but this one seems a bit mauvey, or maybe muddy, which I find weirdly depressing.

I'd say wait because the love isn't there. And believe me, I know how frustrating that is -- I have been looking for a parka for 3 years. (I do have a grey one but I would like another in a bright or white).

I actually like the way the navy looks a lot but I also understand the feeling of...ugh. Just...so much dark - a - darkness. The pink is pretty but it feels a bit washed out to me. Maybe in person it is less so? I do love that you would not see yourself coming and going.

Shevia and Suz - it is a mauvy, greyed pink. It's odd.

Pink hands down - but I have to admit I personally would be emotionally more comfortable in the blue. Pink gets on my nerves sometimes.

Without reading others' comments - white! Blue is practical but so predictable and that pink seems to wash you out.

Is white still an option? Of the three, I still prefer white.

Having said that I acknowledge the challenges associated with white so I understand continuing the hunt. Does it have to be full length? Could you maybe find something you are really excited about in a jacket style?

I think the pink is fun since it's different, but I like the idea of white.

I personally think there are some things that are just not exciting to shop for me - for me that's coats. I don't think I would ever find a parka that makes my heart sing because I just don't care enough. For other people, that could be jeans or boots.

I am pretty sure most things you want can be achieved by a strong
pink,pink and blue make purple, MP hot hot pink, cerise, punky flamingo
all of this over the blue you have will give you a purple. if you fade
the blue even a little these same dyes will give you a warmer more plum
shade. no reason to do any bleaching or fading just strong pink and you
can do alot of what you want
