I like the idea of the pink but not crazy about the mauve-ness of this one. I like the white best of the three. For me, it would be about comfort and warmth more than color.

I like both on you. The pink may be even be better with your skin tone.

However, I have major poison eye for this particular shade of pink as a parka. It is one of those colors that are always used for parkas, second only to black I would say. It was even extremely popular when I was in college twenty some years ago in a different continent.

The blue, on the other hand, seems much more unique.

Catseye-- We must live in upside down worlds: blue is not at all unique here and I don't think I've ever seen a pink parka. Are you in Europe? I'm in Canada.

That said, I'm not super-enthralled by this pinky-mauve colour either.

Robin--thanks for keeping it real and bringing up the warmth aspect. The correct amount of warmth is the most important thing for me. The super-mega parkas (think Canada Goose) are too warm for my needs, and I think and I would be just fine in synthetics. Which means I could realistically get that white parka...

I grew up in Asia. This color was and is ubiquitous.

Although both colors looks good on you, you don't like them enough ---so I actually vote white (if you can deal with the practical problems).

I know I'm being inconsistent since I was one of the voices warning you about white & dirt...but it is a very elegant color and easy to match with whatever else you are wearing.

I do like the shape of the navy over the white. However, you are slender and the white is not unattractive. I like the white too. I'm personally partial to navy, since I've had my favorite navy jacket for at least ten years. It goes with everything and hides dirt. But I think you've got your heart set on white, and I see no reason not to go for white. This isn't the only jacket you'll ever get. Maybe take a chance on something less practical (if it gets dirtier). It looks very fresh in the winter when there are lots of dark colors.

I love pink and even more so mauvy- pinks but this one does not do much for my eye. Can often be how a color reads in different fabrics.
Of course there may not be a huge number of pink parkas to choose from in any one year. Plus sometimes I have my heart set on a particular brand or style and then will say, what's the best color this comes in?
I'm no help!

I think the white one looks good on you. So does the blue one. Get the one that you love and that you can live with, maintenance-wise.

Ooh I like the white one a lot! You glow in it.

Diane G : I do think there is a "glow" in the white.

But the *white is too high maintenance*. There was already a lipstick stain and a dye transfer from the piece of paper that was affixed to the same coat hanger. It has put me off. Also, I have a black dog that sheds. 'nuff said?

I'm going to get something in navy, maybe from Soia and Kyo or Kanuk (two Montreal brands that are more like Canada Goose in their aesthetic). Kanuk has a sale that starts on Nov 23!

Thanks all! It has been great to think things through before buying instead of buy the first pretty-good thing to appear before me.

Smittie, I have a couple of navy coats (raincoat and duffle coat). They're kind of a blank slate when it comes to scarves. Everything goes with them.

Jaileen-
I can't tell you how excited I am to purchase my Kanuk coat in navy, which I just just tried on in the store (in red; no navy available). It'll work well with my blue bag and fits very well for my body type (most coats are too big in the shoulders). I also just bought a cute red hat to wear with it.

Angie-I know, the white is very nice!

I don't like the A-Line fit as much as the more slender fits of the navy and pink. The other two fit you so much better (IMHO).

I agree with Sterling that I prefer the cut of the navy and pink coats. Does that same style come in white? (Sorry -- I am no help at all.)

El Cee and others who commented on the A-line-

That is good to know that it's not as good on me. I'll keep that in mind for future coat purchases.

I went to the shops today and found an excellent coat with a straighter cut. But I have to wait for a sale that starts in a few days to buy it.

You didn't way what color, Smittie.

I was taken by surprise and love that pink on you! It's a great pink that goes really well with your complexion and pink + parka is fun and unexpected combo. Really like the shape on this one better than the white.

Did I read it right that you're going to get another coat you tried in a navy? I think navy is a good idea, it's definitely the sensible option. (I did like the pink on you, the white not so much.)
