Pink for October and help me style this pls!

I have to show my support for breast cancer awareness. And this is the only shocking pink piece of clothing I have and will ever own! And I am going to wear it though it looks like a sack!

I do not like pink on me, but something about this dress made me buy it (I think the romantic hi low or the neon trim)! But this has proven to be another difficult item in my wardrobe ..... I struggle to style this one What exactly is off with this dress?! Other than the fact that it is pink and clings to every bit of lump and bump on my body, I think the dress silhouette is not quite flattering on me.

The belt seems to accentuate the widest part of my torso (my tummy). I tried to place the belt higher (on my natural waist) but it makes the dress wrinkly and clinched. I also tried the dress without the belt and with a necklace to move the focal point upwards. Is it working? And finally I tried a denim jacket, which out of all the looks seems better and more flattering to my eyes.

I am stumped for shoe options too. Are my sandals too colorful for this dress? I feel like a clown LOL! I am not heading anywhere in this outfit until I get some approvals/dis-approvals on this one! Thanks for looking!

don't know why you don't think pink is a good color for you, i think this color looks great on you. i think #4 works very well, and i like this dress with these shoes, they give the dress i beachy feel. and i think that maybe why you are having a hard time with this dress. i think it has a tropical vacation vibe, and maybe that is why you are feeling that this dress isn't working.

The dress is clingy for one ...... which makes me conscious about my love handles and my not so flat tummy! The dress is hiding a figure shaping cami inside

I do not like the girliness of pink and I need something to make this dress a little more mmm .... *macho*

Do you guys think a black and white scarf (I am thinking chevron print) with black ankle boots might look better? I think that would make the outfit feel more me. But unfortunately I do not own either! I have high heeled black ankle boots which might not work well with this dress.

I'd have to see it first, but I think a black and white scarf and black ankle boots would look great with the dress. Do you have black or metallic sandals you could wear with the dress?

@K - I have black sandals with gold studs. But I wasn't too sure if that would go with this dress

I love it beltless with the jean jacket. I like K's suggestion, or a more chunky necklace would work too. Try the black sandals.

Love it better with the jacket since the jacket provides so much structure. I also like the sandals with its wonderful pop of colors.
When I look at the dress alone I don't get the feeling that where you're belting is the problem. The issue is the belt itself. It is completely overwhelmed by the color of the dress and lacks enough width to truly make that metallic statement. As a result the belt adds nothing because it isn't substantial (not thick enough) to compete with that fabulous fuchsia color.

The shade of pink looks amazing on you! The colourful sandals and denim jacket are fab. I agree with Day Vies that the placement of the belt is just fine, but a more substantial belt might work better.

First of all, I am not seeing any of the figure flaws that you're worried about. I think the dress looks great on you, and I love the bright color and the fun sandals. I like it a lot with the necklace or with the denim jacket. I like how the blue from the jacket bookends the blue in the sandals.

I like #4 the best too. I think the jacket adds a cool vibe and it visually balances the volume of fabric toward the bottom. I think the shoes are perfect too.

Angie it is my pleasure (and moral responsibility) to be a part of this awareness campaign, though mine is a very small presence and this is the least I could possibly do.

@DayVies - I wouldn't have thought the size of the belt could be an issue! The belt came with the dress! And I think you are right about the belt being overwhelmed by the color of the dress. I think I would just go sans belt with a denim jacket.

I'll also try the scarf version when I get the necessary completers. Thanks all. Your comments mean a lot to me and helps me to get some perspective
