The jumpsuit arrived. This is something I was trying for an upcoming fundraiser event. Ladies wear long gowns or cocktail, dressy jewelry. Some go all-out and some "make do". Tuxes for men if they have them but many wear suits. So anything dressy goes.

Here are pics:
As-is, close up of sparkly necklace I have--I could use more volume of necklace, or pearls. but this one is the best "length" I have. Plus Hobo clutch.
Pockets!
Pulling up leg to show a better length.
With ankle strap flats for versatility, if were hemmed.

So... I really love this vibe. I like that it is just a little "sporty" while still being dressy.
I think it fits--it could be snugger in top but since it's raglan sleeves and designed as looser bodice I think it works. It actually has enough stride length, maybe a bit to spare but not much, to allow movement, and don't really want snugger in the fanny.

It is longer on me than on the models (surprise!) and I think should be hemmed an inch or so to show a bit more ankle, and that would also enable its versatility with ankle strap flats, or booties, but....my event is Saturday. I don't want to tackle it myself because I would only turn up the hem, not cut and finish it, so not sure it would still drape right. (though, maybe I could try that, as could always undo it). So if I took it to tailor, would have to go today, beg and pay for rush job, and pick up on day of the event. I hate to do that with a nice item, as anything might happen, and it adds stress when, right now I would have everything I need. So with these pumps, I would consider wearing as-is, with idea that there are loads of hem lengths going on at these events and PPL not maybe the focus, and get it hemmed when not putting pressure on me or tailor.

Other issue: when I ordered this, I saw only black as an option. Now they show a purply velvet also. Well, that would be a better "face color" for me but overall I'm thinking, that is a LOT of purply velvet, the black is more subtle and classic for a jumpsuit style, and likely more forgiving of drape and fit, which would show up more in a lighter and more reflective color, plus accessorizing. Plus of course it's too late to try that color for this event and my rationale at this point is that black tends to read more dressy-elegant and not overlap with velour.

The reason I took a chance on adding yet more black to the dressy capsule is , one, I just thought this style would work and may not come round again soon, but mainly the kind of boatneck neckline to which I add lighter jewelry, and short sleeves, which help keep me from drowning in black.

Aside from that, I do have the issue of , how many time will I wear this? It is an indulgence for sure. However, perhaps it is "classic"? It is more of fall-winter/holiday but that's where the "pants" aspect, warm fabric help me, can underlayer a bit also. Also the fit is forgiving for weight gain, big dinners.

Please fire away with comment, critiques, cautions as I have some forms of "goggles" on for sure.

Thanks for reading!

ETA showing other wrap/topper options depending on weather.

7-8 are a Jennifer Lopez sparkle-black jacket from Kohl's I've kept for years. I think it actually works, making the outfit look like a dressy pantsuit but is more sporty and also prefer not to keep it on inside unless dying of cold but I could treat it like outdoor wear and coat-check it. I"m glad I am trying it though because this makes me feel like I can create different looks with the jumpsuit.

9-10 are a double "satin" wrap in kind of a shiny off-black. I think it looks more "gala" but then, wraps are more fussy hard and not very warm. It's something that I could carry in and leave at my table for sitting, though . Pic 10 side view is trying to show the sheen of the wrap. I don't have an light silver and actually like the dark wrap as long as it's contrasting satiny-shiny with the velvet.

Also shown is a thin silver +sparkle bracelet--wondering if that is "too much" added to the necklace and clutch, or good for gala since the jumpsuit is a lot of black.

My temperature problem is that it's going to be a mild day, high of about 69-70, but cooling off during the evening to ~ 60 which is pretty chilly for me. The leopard coat is probably a bit warm except if I stand outside waiting for my"ride" and of course it's my business how warm I may need!. I may just have to see what the temp feels like as I am heading out the door.

Thanks for evaluating!
