I just have to chime in and say that it truly was a wonderful day! I really canNOT get over the immediate connection, kindness, and fun that YLFers have when they come together! I'd like to say that it's magic - but I know that it is more likely to be a reflection of Angie and Greg's personality and influence on everyone who comes into any kind of contact (even "cyber") with them!
My swapping experience was extremely successful. As many of you know, I have been on SYC for a little over 1 1/2 years now. In the beginning it was quite easy for me, as I had many clothes and I really enjoyed wearing them in new and different ways. However, once the 2nd season for the same clothes rolled around, many of them felt "tired", even though they may not have been in reality - I was tired of them! The kind of depressing thing about it is that I don't see any end in sight for my SYC! I'm still broke and to be honest, most of the time, my wardrobe is the LAST thing that I am concerned about when we are trying to figure out how to pay our bills!
So, yesterday was a real treat for me. I scored - and I scored BIG! Here's just a partial list of some of the things I brought home with me: Denise's Karen Kane black assymetrical hem dress - LOVE it! An A.T. sheath dress - white background with watercolor looking pink/red flowers, GAP leather pencil skirt, a bluish green pencil skirt (thank you Rae) that has teeny tiny horizontal gathers, a blue cobalt jersey fitted jacket (still has tags on it!), the "triplet" dress - thank you Natalie! a gorgeous navy blue Tahari long suit jacket and skirt with small pleats along the bottom, an A.T. animal print long-sleeved blouse - yes, AJ, I finally got my animal print blouse! a "modish" black jacket with big round buttons, a long denim (I mean midi length) jacket with fur collar, a pink Coach bag, a . . . well, do you get the picture! It was like Christmas and my B-Day all rolled into one!
The best part of it all was spending time with the women of YLF - Vicki, yes the perfect hostess, MaryK, Denise, Rae - and Eva, Natalie and Jennifer - who I met for the first time yesterday. I came home on a "high" that I still have not come down from! A huge smile is still plastered on my face - I hope that you can all feel it while you are reading this! Thank you everyone!
