I spent the day people watching. Thinking about the nation of slobs thread, I wanted to look at both ends of the shopping spectrum. I started off at my local thrift store. The shoppers were mostly older and mostly frumpy. There were a lot of white trainers that seemed disconnected from the rest of the outfit.
My next stop was a larger thrift store in a more suburban area. The patrons were a little better dressed, but it still had its fair share of frump.
My last stop was the Nordies sale. There was much less frump, but there was some.
A few thoughts.
I saw people at all the locations wearing nontapered capris that came to the wide part of the calf and nontapered crops.
Footwear was the biggest difference between the best and worst dressed. I saw a woman wearing a nice tank, vest and jeans, then ruined it with 5finger vibram type shoes. Saw a fair amount of crocs with nicer outfits.
If there are both intentional and unintentional slouch, then it is fair to say there are intentional and unintentional casual. I saw a guy who repeated the green and black of his nikes with his sh
