Pencil skirt mania

Simple combos of pencil skirts and climate-appropriate tops have been my go-tos for work this summer. J Crew has some nice longer-skirt options and I ordered one in purple and one in green. The green (shown here with a silky navy BR top I've had forever) is a little more challenging to style, but I'm playing around with some things and thought I'd ask for feedback. If all else fails a white blouse will work with both quite nicely. The green is available in other colors, so I could always exchange this one. As for the purple and red...too much?

Oh, I like both! I think the red top is from AT, right? I have the same one in a teal color and still haven't figured out how to wear it; I like your idea of tucking it into a pencil skirt.

That green is such a good color for you. I think I'd like the red and purple with different shoes. But I'm not a huge fan of matchy-matchy.

Oy. I can't even stand it! The fabness, it burns like fire!!

And I AM a huge fan of matchy-matchy, FWIW, and I love the red shoes.

I love the simple elegance of both, and they're perfect for a long, hot summer. The red/purple combo looks fantastic on you, and I do not think it's too much. The only suggestion I have are the heels. I like the red pumps, but have you tried this outfit with a nude pump?

I agree with MaryK--sizzling hot goodness! I LOVE that green skirt on you. You could do a cobalt with it. I always love all different shades of purple with green. Gray, cream, black, navy are all no-brainers. Maybe certain shades of yellow...

Fun! Yea for you for not getting neutral skirts. I like the purple and red together, but would choose a neutral shoe. Might just be my taste, though.

Both look great on you (and I love the new haircolor - didn't mention in your other post) With the green I love navy, white and almost anything print or stripe, neutrals, and the black you have on. I like the red and purple.

So glad to see a Kyle post! I love the green skirt with the navy, I think that's a great pairing. And white will look beautiful as well. I'm sure it's too warm for it now, but how would the suit jacket that you brought back from Italy work with the green skirt for cooler weather dressing? The red and purple is spectacular - I love it. I think the red heels work just fine, but the nude pair in #1 would be great also if you're feeling like it's too much. The green necklace in #1 is perfect for your new strawberry blond locks! You have such fabulous style!!
