Party time! Colour silver

It was my Godson's 11th birthday yesterday and he had a birthday party with close friends and family. It was fun to have an occasion to dress up. I decided to play with a neutral colour in a non-neutral way - silver. There is nothing new in this combination, just old favourites that I love to wear. I bought this skirt about 2 years ago on sale and love it, and try to wear it as often as the occasion allows. For the party I dressed it up with heels and pearls - but I have worn it more casually with sneakers and a denim jacket as dressy skirts can be versatile.

My silver bag has been such a great find, it was inexpensive and fun being iridescent silver, I use it often when going out and love it.

Beautiful outfit. The skirt is a great choice fortune party. My little granddaughter turns 4 in a few weeks and wants a silver dragon stuffie.

Slim cat - I enjoy both gold and silver jewellery, with a slight preference for gold, but in clothing, feel silver is easier to wear.

Nikki - I love the bag too, I think it only cost me $20 AUD (so about US$15), it has been such a useful little bag and is nicely made.

Tanya - the party was so much fun for everyone. My son and the birthday boy are very good friends and had a special cubby house that they disappeared off to whilst the adults talked and caught up.

Joy silver or a rainbow outfit will be perfect for a 4th birthday party. Alas my niece's soon to be 3 year old wants to have a Super Mario birthday party and so I will have to dress up as a plumber as she and her sister have decided they will both be Princess Peach!

Nuanced dream - it was a lovely party and I really enjoyed wearing the crazy skirt.

Jenni, no running in these heels for me. The boys and I did a iFly (indoor sky diving - so much fun!) together earlier in the day, so we had our birthday adventure earlier and this was just dinner and relaxing in the evening.

Suntiger, I know, it is so very shiny I could not resist it.

Mirjana, I love being able to dress up for special occasions and try to do so at any opportunity.

Minaminu, the skirt is professional dry clean only, so not easy care. However, it does not require constant cleaning, as I wear hosiery when wearing it, so I get in a few wears before each time it is dry cleaned.

Janet, this is a fun skirt for Christmas parties too. I have worn it to a work party.

Wow that is one very glamorous outfit and your skirt steals the show. I admire that sort of glamour a lot but just couldn't pull it off myself mainly because I can't walk in any kind of a heel, but I'll live vicariously through you and the other glamour wearing fabbers.

Sally - those shoes are reasonably comfy because they are one of my favourite brands of shoes - but I only wear them when I know there will not be too much walking involved or for formal events.

Janet - it was really fun to dress up again.

Lyn - that is one of the best things about a formal skirt, I can stay warm by pairing it with a knit.
