We got home last night from our epic 28-day trip to Europe (making up for 3 years of not traveling overseas). I was lucky enough to spend my birthday week in Paris! So hubs spoiled me rotten.
1-2 We stopped in Chloe and I did not have the faintest expectation of getting anything, but he nudged me into trying on at least some shoes. The sneakers came with me that day! They’re super cute and very comfortable. But Jamie also got me the sandals I tried on as well (pic 2). I was surprised that they were comfortable and looked really good on me, but I thought they weren’t practical enough to justify the purchase. Clearly my husband disagreed!
3-4 This scarf called to me at Alexander McQueen. There were some gorgeous colorful scarves there in their new collection, but they were huge and ornate and seemed more like art pieces than wearable to me. This scarf has touches of purple, which I’m enjoying lately and would like a bit more of!
5-6. Social media advertising works. I started seeing ads for Mara Paris, and Lo and behold, I was right there in the Marais, so had to check it out. I got this striking silver ring.
7-8. In a little shop, they were selling these fabulous reversible jackets made in Japan with vintage Japanese fabrics and remnants. I couldn’t resist. I’m a sucker for a good Japanese print, especially koi fish, which is the motif on the back of this jacket.
9. Zadig & Voltaire was having a big sale. I got this cobalt and black version of the Tink blouse I own in a different print, and a pair of great black trousers with white side stripes.
10. onitsuka Tiger sneakers - I had read reviews that indicate these may be a good fit for my feet, and finally got to try some on. So comfy I wore them straight out of the box for 8 miles of walking in one day!
Whew! Between this and NAS, I am DONE for a while! Lucky lucky me.
