Pantyhose anyone???

I know, I know. Nobody wears them anymore, however, I have a dress code at work and have to (insert sad face here). I'm looking for something very sheer, blends into my pale skin and won't run easliy. Sounds impossible, I know....

I've been a pantsuit gal for as long as I can remember, but I am now the proud owner of the perfect black pencil skirt. I'm hoping to wear it to work, but I have to figure out the hosery thing first.

I think I'm the only non-lawyer in the PNW who wears hose...I don't mind anything but the runs! But it's optional for me -- the dress code thing is a bit of a bummer.

I don't know HOW pale you are. I am super-pale and find the $$ DKNY Nudes in the lightest shade are the only realistic match. They last ok, but I do baby them and make sure my toenails aren't sharp.

If you're a little darker, Nordstrom's house brand, Calvin Klein, and Hanes have all colors that might work. They've been about the same for me in terms of performance.

An alternative to skintone that works well for the pale, IMO, is a very light grey. It can be tough to find -- Nordstrom's house brand has one and Hanes has a Grey Mist and a Light Grey that work. I've only been able to find the latter two online at their outlet, though:

I'm sure there are at least a few other hose wearers around. If you can wear tights in the winter (vs hose) you can have more fun. Good luck!

Hey Banana! I thought I was the old woman in their 30's that still wore them! lol. I too have to wear them most every day to work. I searched for years until I found legacy leg wear. They are AWESOME (well as awesome as hose can be). I can wear them 8-10 hours a day and not have the feeling of sagging or running to the bathroom to rip them off. Here is a link.

I wear hose when I attend certain board meetings or fund raising events out of respect for older members who cherish more formal ways of dressing. If I am wearing a black suit or dress I like to wear black stockings. I wear very sheer hose in the summer and heavier ones in the winter. I am short and it gives a long, lean line to wear black from head to toe. It also gives you longer looking legs to wear the black skirt, black stockings, black shoes with a white or lighter colored top.

I think you could also consider wearing sheer black hose. I've seen sheer black popping up in a lot of ads and other trendy photos recently, and I think it would look fine with a black pencil, even in summer.

The pair I own is sheer black and the Nordstrom brand mentioned already. They have lasted quite some time (2 years) but I've worn them only about 5 times!

Banana, when I worked I wore pantyhose and the brands I liked best were DKNY Nudes and Jockey. I still have some left. I found that sheer black was very flattering. In winter I practically lived in black tights.
