I am looking through the Fashion Over Fifty Facebook group and haven't seen our Deborah yet, but here's what I AM noticing.
First off, it's amusing to me that when I saw the label "Over Fifty", I imagined a target group around my age -- early fifties. In reality, they are lumping women who seem to have just turned 50 with women who appear to be in their late 70s.
Yep -- we're all the same. Same fashion issues, same style questions. Once you pass 50, it's all OLD AGE. Come now. That's like saying "pre-teen" is a good label to use if you mean to include everything from 12-year-olds to newborns. Yeah, TECHNICALLY they're in the same age group, but really?
Second, I appreciate how they seem to have taken a stand in support of gray or white hair. I color my own hair, but that's because of something else I notice among their featured ladies -- the very low numbers of curly-haired women. That's because, as I've been saying for years, it's really hard to make curly hair look good in its natural silver or salt-and-pepper state. It just tends to go all coarse and unruly when it goes gray. Our Shevia manages it beautifully, and that's no easy feat!
So, Deborah, what's the date where I'll find your picture posted?
