I recently bought a pair of over-the-knee boots. I didn't want to spend too much on them as I didn't know if I'd wear them much, but I found a couple of Pinterest outfits, cut the tags off the boots and decided to give it a go. Here's what I've come up with so far:

#1/2 - My favorite heavy, warm winter sweater, paired with the boots and arguably my most worn jeans of all time, my dark wash Gap Resolution Slim Straights. Jessica Quirk's post on What I Wore gave me the idea for this one, and I wore it to a small holiday gathering at a friend's house last Friday night. Sweater - J Crew Factory

#3/4 - I saw the Pinterest outfit in #4 and decided to make the outfit more me-friendly by adding my favorite scarf. The scarf has some warmer tans which I like against my pale complexion. I wore this for shopping and to go to (very casual) church service with a friend. Scarf - Target, light wash distressed jeans - Gap Resolution, sweater - Joe Fresh/JCP

#5/6 - I love plaid, so when I saw the plaid scarf in this Pinterest pic, I knew I wanted to try it. My only plaid scarves are heavy, thick outdoor ones, which wouldn't do for indoors at work in a warm building, so I wore this leopard and plaid mix scarf. I have a matching red watch with a plaid face. Sweater - F21, scarf, plaid face watch - Charming Charlie, jeans - Gap Resolution.

The OTK boots came from Charming Charlie. They seem well-made and I like that I didn't break the bank buying them!
