OT lip balm recommendations

It's gotten really cold in Seattle and my lip balm isn't up to snuff.
I used to use Kiehl's #1, but that doesn't seem to work anymore. Then I tried Sugar by Fresh, while it feel great going on it just doesn't last.
Any recommendations? Bonus if with SPF.

I like Alba lip balm (totally cheap, easy to find in drug stores or grocery stores.) I also like to use L'Occinane shea butter - I keep a tiny tin in my purse to smear on my lips or on the eczema patches that appear on my hands. No SPF, though.

Aveda makes one with SPF.

I haven't had any long term luck with lip balms. In fact I have read numerous times that it makes dry lips worse--although so far no one seems to have a better solution.

I like Silk and Shine by Blistex. It has SPF 15.

Honey Trap by Lush. It's not too greasy, not too waxy and has a little peppermint in it to wake up your mouth. It's the best!

I have very dry lips, and I keep lip stuff stashed everywhere - by my desk, in my car, next to the sofa.I like Bert's Bees, and recently I've also been using a lip gloss from L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Gentle Lip Conditioner. It's a tiny bit gooey (it's a gloss, not a balm) but it does seem to condition my lips.

My entire family likes Natural Ice - we buy it in the 12-count box from amazon.com. It has SPF 15:

Another one I was gifted (yes, in cold, dry MN we give each other lip balm!) and I really like is Ganache for Lips in Chocolate Mousse. I haven't tried lookin to buy it yet.

I gave up on lip balms and now use Aquaphor. It works for me.

Anna, I recently found this one (Jane Iredale Lip Drink Balm SPF 15). It also has zinc oxide for SPF: it's a physical sunscreen that is more stable and less irritating than chemical sunscreens. You can find this lip balm in several online stores, including this one.

I'm a limp balm fiend and this one works really well for me.
Also, a lot of MAC lipsticks are great for dry lips, but make sure to try the non-matte ones.

I use the Fresh balm and you are right - it doesn't last! I think it might be worth trying the Jane Iredale Lena recommends - I think her products are very good. I know they sell her products at Pharmaca if you have one near you.

I like Palmers Cocoa Butter lip balm. It has SPF 15, smells like vanilla and moisturises well- cheap too!

I love the cheapo brand Carmex (available at most drugstores) It works REALLY well, not at all greasy, is long-lasting and I havent had any splitting lip problems or dried-out feelings for years...one or 2 applications give nearly 24 hour protection. Dunno about SPF, sorry...

Labello lip balms from Germany are the VERY best. You can order from amazon.com or germandeli.com. I've hiked the Alps many times in very harsh conditions and this lip balm is a moisturizing miracle.

It does great, it's all natural and it does't do that funky filmy thing that Carmex and the like do that make you feel like you need more after about 10 minutes.

I say Labello, too! Fortunately I'm from Germany, so I don't have to order it! My mother always used it and that's why this was my lip balm since I was little. Labello is so well known in Germany (and a pretty old brand!) that the name is now commonly used for all lip balms. So you always borrow "einen Labello", no matter what brand it is!

I've used Blistex medicated lip balm for years. Boring, but it works for me.

Gotta add my 2 cents for Aquaphor. No SPF, but it's literally the only thing I've tried that works. I like Burt's Bees lip shimmers for the color, so I use Aquaphor and then put the Burt's on top of it.

Anna, while you are in Australia you should pick up some Lucas's paw paw cream. It's the best thing ever.

Loyal Burts Bees peppermint user here! I'm addicted to chapstick and it's the only one I've consistently bought because it makes my lips feel amazing.

I use Burt's Bees pomegranate (it looks red, but has no color when applied) or Bigelow's rose salve (also good on cuticles or any dry skin). Both of these are now available at our local Target.

I use the Burt's Bees with pomegranate, too- I think it's called Replenishing. Aquafor always sounds great, but I don't like petroleum products on my lips.
