The saga with my breathing problems gets more confusing!!!
I had my appointment a week ago last Monday which left the consultant scratching his head!! He's ordered a chest X-ray, blood tests (which were done on the day), a lung function test and some other test which I can't remember. I had the lung function test today and apparently I have the lung capacity of an athlete! Though my gas transfer is in the lower region of normal. I have to go back next week for an fast breathing test with an inhaler. I'm beginning to think I'm a nut case :-(( x

I hope you feel better soon! It's frustrating when doctors can't figure out what's going on, but just keep the faith and they'll figure everything out soon.

You are NOT a nut case. Sometimes it takes awhile for the root of a problem to be found. Hang in there. I am sending healing thoughts/prayers your way.

Not a nut case, although I do get how struggling with these kinds of things can make you feel that way. It took several years for me and my doctors to figure out why I was suffering from debilitating migraines. Once we figured it out, it seemed so obvious...but there are just so many factors to take into consideration.

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts!

You are not a nutcase. It's just all guesswork and doctors try to do the most accurate guessing!

One test at a time, Louise. It's frustrating for sure. But hopefully, with patience and the right diagnosis, you will get to the root of your health challenges. HUGS!

Have you seen a cardiologist? Does the breathing getting any better with rest?

Rachylou I've not seen a cardiologist I'm under the respiratory department at the moment, it's not always better at rest I was lounging in bed last night and felt bad! X

Hi Louise,
I'm sure they will figure this out! It just takes time and I'm sorry it makes you feel badly and must also be frightening to you. I had a swallowing problem some years ago and I would feel like I couldn't get enough air and then I would slightly hyperventilate which really scared me. They think it was a combo of acid reflux and esophageal spasming. It is gone thank god but I dealt with it for a few months. They'll figure it out so have faith!

Louise, I'm so sorry to hear about your health problems. You know your body best and are the best judge if something is not up to par. Hang in there, place your trust in your doctors, and know that they will get to the bottom of it. Hugs to you!

Oh Louise, I'm so sorry to read that you aren't feeling better and that you haven't got any answers yet. I am impressed that you are an inner athlete though!

Louise maybe it's not a problem with you, but your apartment? I hear of stories of people coming down with strange symptoms only to find that mold behind their walls were making them suffer.

Thought I'd put that out there. I do hope a cause and solution will be in your near future.

AJ I had blood taken last week and I'm sure I spotted a mould allergy was to be tested for, just as long as I'm not allergic to shopping or clothes!! X

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems! I know breathing problems aren't fun, I've had asthma as a child and now have a hypersensitive bronchial system. I hope they'll find the cause when they do the fast breathing test. When do you have the most problems? Outside or inside? Did you got tested for allergies? My sister and brother have a house dust allergy and always had breathing problems at home until it was discovered and we threw the carpets and other things out of their rooms.

Not a nutcase at all, Louise! I'm so sorry the uncertainty continues. I know you were hoping to have a full diagnosis by now, and it's very frustrating and stressing when you have to wait longer, get more tests done, and are not feeling 100% in the meantime.

The docs will get to the bottom of this! Hang in there and please keep us posted about the new tests?

Louise, I am sorry you have to go through this. I know that it is cliché, but so true, the not knowing is worse. Try to hang on to the little things, like having great lungs.

It is so normal to start feeling as if you are going a little crazy and maybe it is physchological...but you know your body better that anyone, so keep pushing !!
