If you hadn't seen my other post, I was rear ended two Fridays ago, the first car hit in a four-car incident (adjuster said there is a 90% chance my car is totaled). I initially went to one urgent care that was "closed for special event." Bizarre enough. With the pain, I could not drive to the further urgent care center in pouring rain, so I rested my back a couple days and called my health insurance for options.

I was then told that Urgent Care cannot refer me to a specialist or chiropracter if needed, so I decided to wait until I could get an appointment with my GP - I finaly saw him yesterday and would not even look at my back! He said there was no way that an insurance settlement would cover the physical therapy and to call him if I decided to sue the responsible driver for more $$. What?? Not even a rec. for a body soak or anything?

I'm really at a loss here... does this doctor sound crazy, or is it just me? Does anyone know if I can be reimbursed for services paid out of pocket, like if I go to a chiropractor of my own choice? These are questions I'd like to ask my claims adjuster, if only she would return my calls!
