Thank you Irina for continuing to explain where you were coming from with this thread. I am at the same stage as you with less to do in life and more time to think, since I resigned from my second job about a year ago and only do 3 days a week in my main job.
Getting rid of guilt which has been put on us by society for trying hard on our outfits is great! I don’t have that guilt because I know that I am not shallow and superficial. I also don’t want to blame women for supposedly being those words when men can be equally so with some of their interests. Equal opportunity!

I'm mentally framing DiG's short and sweet comment:

Aren't we all unique individuals? And therefore every outfit we wear is unique?

As a natural-born slob (to my mother's chagrin) I admire those who make an effort - is that phrase ok?

Over my life, that effort could anything from watching Mom get all girdle'ed up for a dinner dance, to safety-pinned and mohawk'ed punks.

Watching the US track & field Olympic trials, it was fun to see both the totally natural looks and the colorful hair and nails of our fabulous female athletes. Each one unique!
