Today would have actually been the end of radiation had it not been for Thanksgiving break. But this way it ends on Monday.
I have seen my doctor yesterday and we have gone over some stuff, but will see him again on Monday and we will go over more. In general he thinks I did quite well in terms of side effects-many could have been much worse. It is especially good that I managed to maintain my weight, which was very difficult for me. This particular battle has not been won yet, as many people experience sudden weight loss after the end of the rads. Hoping that will not happen. The only thing that went much worse that expected is my nasty skin burn. It is pretty painful, but not much can be done about it. Not sure how much he was joking, probably a lot, but my doctor thinks it could have to do with me having " a pretty thin neck" with "even thinner skin"
Of course, it is by no means over. As the matter of fact, I was warned that it will all get worse before it gets better. The side effects are expected to keep getting worse for 3 or so weeks after the treatment, pretty much till NYE. I personally expect based on that to be stuck at home for two or so months, we will see how it goes.
