This is what I'm dealing with, at least today

He was rated as 23% Enemy, there is no text in his profile, only basic stats. Profile photo was heavily pixelated. His message to me was "Hey there".

Are you an international man of mystery? Probably not. I am not intrigued enough to reply. Sorry, not sorry.

OkCupid rates people by Match, Friend and Enemy categories. It's based on their insanely specific questions, there are hundreds of questions. Everything from smoking to beastiality is covered.

Angie, I have yet to hear a good thing about It's Just Lunch. It's very expensive and also they guys are all Type A and not the good kind.

Ha! Before I moved here, I used OkC to scope out the town a bit, and when I first joined I wrote to someone whose profile I saw bc it came up under highest enemy scores. He was open about being in a support group that seemed interesting to me, so I asked him to take me to a meeting when I got to town.

He did, and it's been really helpful.

Haven't seen him since, because I was not interested in dating him and his girlfriend.

Haha! I just downloaded OkCupid and started answering the infinite list of questions - which I thought would be more interesting. I thought they were going to match me in an unexpected way on the basis of my favourite flavour of ice cream and Beatles v. Stones. Instead every question is along the lines of, "How perverted are you?" and "In what ways are you a pervert?" and "How many would you like to involve in your perversions?"

It's like... it's like a combination of eHarmony and Adult Friendfinder: a boring grossout.

My friend, tho, says the part of OkCupid where they analyse the stats is extremely interesting.

So I was going through my old messages, realized I've been on OKCupid for two full years.

Thinking of going back to eHarmony or Match. Expensive, but less of a freak show.

Rachylou, you can search OkC's questions list for the types of questions you want to answer.

"How much did you spend on shoes in the last year" and "do you own or have you ever owned a suit costing USD 1000 or more" end up putting a "more wealthy" bar on your personality profile. (Um, or not, depending on how you answer.) So I'm not sure about their analyses. Your friend might be right that the algorithms themselves are very interesting.

My profile was contrarian and I had great success using the site for various platonic purposes. eHarmony rejected me; I met bf on CL.

From my experience eharmony will reject you if they can't determine what religion you adhere to/prefer to date.

Have you tried Plenty of Fish? It's free and a friend of mine really liked it. In her opinion, she liked the type of guy that wasn't willing to pay for a site more than those on Match etc.
