OMG hair! + WIW - YouLookFab Forum

I've been growing my hair out for over a year and today is the first time it's actually felt like I can call it long again (as opposed to just a grown out bob).

1) - January 2013 - the bob. Cute right? But I felt it made me look really young, plus it didn't seem to fit the boho vibe I was trying for in my clothing.

2) - January 2014 - wheeee!!! Long hair!!!

3 and 4) - Oh, this is a WIW - a kind of boring WIW, where the most exciting thing is that I wore brown boots with a black coat, which pre YLF was a huge no-no in my world. I decided this black scarf with a gold paisley pattern was enough to pull it together. You've seen the maroon jeans, grey cashmere sweater, jade beads, black leather jacket, and brown cowboy boots before. Excuse me while I go back to gloating about my hair.

Wow! Your hair grew a lot! I think both styles suit you. The longer length is definitely more boho in feel though and frames your face so nicely. Great WIW too.

We are scarf-trick sisters! I love using combinations of black and brown or warm+ cool in scarves to tie things together or to put one foot outside my color zone.

The bob was cute but I think the long hair makes you look younger (at least in these photos). Your longer hair looks good on you and does have a more boho vibe. I also use scarves to pull together black and brown looks.

I second Sara, I think the longer hair gives you a more youthful appearance, but not in a Mutton dressed as lamb way.

Yes I like both cuts too. You are my inspiration with the hair growing out as I am doing that too. Mines at the boring long bob point. Yours is where I want it to be!

I think that both cuts look great on you. I am envious, because I have very fine hair and can't really grow it out much past my chin. I agree that the long hair is more boho.

Thanks everyone, but ... OMG you guys, I totally lied. By accident, I promise. That first pic is actually from Jan 2012! Here is Jan 2013. So the growth is not quite so dramatic, but still about 5 or 6 inches in 12 months, which is about average, from what I've read.

The bob is definitely cute, but I think the longer hair feels more like "you"!

I also use gold in accessories all the time to make black and brown look like they go together.

Congrats on loving your hair length again! And I was going to be super impressed with how much it grew in one year so your update made me giggle. I'm still impressed: it's beautiful hair. Your outfit is lovely too.

Mine was in a pixie this time last year, and I remember the satisfaction just a few months ago when it finally looked like a short blunt bob again instead of a growing out pixie! In fact, that was right around the time I signed up to the forum!

Your hair looks adorable.
