Bonus day! This outfit contains two oldies from my wardrobe. We’re headed to Denver tonight for dinner and a play at an experimental theatre, so I wanted something a little funky and artsy.
The black shirt dress is another piece that was already in my wardrobe by the time I started tracking in summer 2015, though I believe it was fairly new then. It’s logged 15 wears since.
Why I’ve considered letting it go: while fit and flare styling works for my body, it also can feel a bit twee for my style. 100% cotton needs a steam or iron after every wash. The close-cut upper body isn’t the coolest for summertime.
Why I still have it: the color and style are so classic that it doesn’t need to be a workhorse over a season or two. I’ll be able to wear it a few times a year over a longer period. Also, buttoning all the way down gives it some versatility. See this outfit!
The cowboy boots are the second oldie here. I bought them for a western-themed party for new year’s 2012, shortly after we moved back to Colorado. At the time, I convinced myself that I could afford a quite nice pair and would wear them for a long time. I was right. They’ve only logged 17 wears since 2015, but they had three years before that to rack up plenty.
Why I’ve considered letting go: I haven’t.
Why I still have them: They’re classic.
Worn with: Tolani tunic dress (5 wears)
