Oldie Outfits - Day 1

I'm not sure of the exact year, but I know it was over six years ago, that we went to see the Terra-cotta Chinese Warriors in Santa Ana, CA. The gift shop had this linen jacket for sale and DH bought it for me as a surprise. It has Chinese coins as buttons and is always fun to wear. This is how I last wore it.

Do you know what the fabric is. The details are lovely ( especially the cuffs and closures.)

Thank you Jenni and elbgen. The tag inside said that it was made in China and the fabric is 100% Chanfbre and I am not sure what that is.

Bonnie- Thanks for the fabric name- it was a new one for me. Googled it and I am no better enlightened. The term is used in French literature but when I google translate it doesn't translate that specific word. So I guess it will just have to remain a mystery. Can't help but wonder if it is a type of silk or silk blend from a specific region that gives it its name. Apparently we will never know unless someone else can figure it out. Thanks- no matter what it is made of- it is a beautiful piece and looks wonderful on you

We go to a lot of performances so this jacket gets worn at least a couple of times every year. It's great because it is a really heavy material (the tag says 100% Chanfabri(c)) which keeps me warm outside and in the theatre. I looked up Chanfabri, I think part of the name is hidden in the seam, and found a company named Chan that had lots of fabrics for sale frrom different parts of China. I saw lots of beautiful fabrics but none that looked like mine.
