And Khris, we'll be going to the Living Desert at some point Monday or Tuesday - maybe you can bring the kids and meet us? My 7 year old would love company, I'm sure!
Una is Sunday a Disney day or are you having a day off before you move on to the Living Desert?
Unless Rae and Khris think the traffic will be horrible on a Sunday, I don't see why we couldn't meet you and your family for lunch after the swap meet and then head on to mall shopping. We got to eat lunch, so it would be fab to be able to see you as well!
OK, I looked at mapquest and it seems to me that on Sunday we could go to the swap meet, then if MaryK would be so kind as to pick up Una and family, then we could meet for lunch somewhere halfway. Maybe along Harbor Blvd? Then we could head to the South Coast plaza on Bristol Street.
Is it the swap meet at Golden West College Rae? I have been to that one, but not for a long time. It's really near my parents house.
I doubt that I will be up for South Coast Plaza after the swap meet, but Anaheim will be on my way home so I could drop Una and family back off at their hotel.
Una- we were at The Living Desert not long ago. You will have a good time, but I'm not up for another long drive after the weekend.
Just occurred to me that the H&M at The Block in Orange is much closer to Anaheim than South Coast. That is a much smaller outdoor mall, but they do have a Saks and a Neiman Marcus Last Call. Not sure why they call it an Outlet spot... maybe it has changed since I've been there.
Hey, I'm thinking it will be just me and I will leave the boys to play at the pool... We are renting a car later in the day to drive to Palm Springs. Now that I know what's going on, I'm going to negotiate with my husband for the afternoon with you all, but I don't want to mess with anyone's traffic schedule. I know the L.A. traffic is a nightmare!
Rae, I'm in Palm Desert this weekend and just saw this, as I was going to confirm that H&M is at SCP (South Coast Plaza), but then I saw your note about it also being at The Block in Orange. Is the Anaheim Flea Market a lot like the Huntington Beach one?
Well if my preliminary airline search prices hold for a couple days, it's looking like I will be able to join in the fun. I will likely be there Friday night - Sunday night/Monday morning. Still planning though, just thought I'd share
I am not sure where the wires got crossed, but the Swap Meet is in Huntington Beach - no swap meet in Anaheim. The H&Ms are either at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, or The Block in Orange (closer to Anaheim, which is where Una is staying).
We're at the Grand Caifornian, or whatever that fancy Disney hotel is right by Californialand. I have no idea of distances, but I don't want to trouble anyone with driving if it's an issue, because I have BEEN in L.A. traffic many times. *shudder*
It's not that far, Una. Huntington Beach is maybe half an hour from Anaheim. And Orange is less than half an hour from there. I would be happy to fetch you.
Honestly- in Orange County (where I grew up)- everything is 20-30 minutes away from each other, so don't worry about it Una. AJ and I are talking about maybe doing the amusement park (KBF) on Saturday if anyone is interested in joining us. Of course, nothing is set in stone yet.
I told Hubby that I wouldn't be able to lay around the house with him on Sunday and recover from jet lag, because I have a date with my jet-setting dress-up friends including Una from Alaska! And he (who has apparently been paying much closer attention than I thought), said "Oh, wow! Isn't she the one who sent you that pretty scarf recently?"
