October Los Angeles weekend?

Oh man, do I need a BREAK! I'm seeing some good airfare deals to LA and I believe there is a large group of y'all there, right? What say we have some sort of YLF conference and make it a weekend shopping, eating and gab fest! (I'm a night owl anyways, so late night laugh sessions are always up my alley.) : P

I would like to be there the weekend of Oct. 22. Anyone available? (Yes, this is a desperate plea for a YLF party.) : P

Ooh, I'm game, if you don't mind digging. Where in LA will you be staying? The best ones for clothing are in Huntington Beach and Sunland, in that order. There is also one in Torrance, but they don't have such a great clothes selection on the weekends.

I'm up for it! I would love to check out the flea market in HB- that's really close to my parents' house and where I grew up.

Rae, I don't have my accomodations booked yet. I wanted to get a semi-event list going so I can them figure out the location to stay.

Huntington Beach sounds good for the flea market. How about an art museum as well for further fashion inspiration?

Are you talking the same day for a museum? Huntington Beach is about an hour drive from LA, and LA is where the good art museums are. I don't think that I could do both.

Khris, we don't have to do the museum. We can use Huntington Beach as a reference point and find events reasonably close to it. Just please tell me there is an H&M nearby!! My H&M is three hours away in a city I don't frequent.

I plan on arriving Friday afternoon and leaving Monday morning so I have hours that need filling. My only agenda is to have YLF bonding time! : )

Khris, since you mentioned your parents' house is near Huntington, I was hoping you would be able to enjoy more than a day. Well, that's what I'm hoping from anyone joining in. : P Too much to ask? Please?! Don't leave me to wander the streets of LA alone. : (

People, I will be in L.A. from October 12 - 19th! Although we are going to see the Mouse and then to Joshua Tree for some climbing/hiking time - if I could squeeze in something with YLF gals, that would be a triumph. Looks like AJ and I won't overlap, though.

AJ, if not, don't sweat it - honestly it's going to be just lunch if anything for me (an ALLSAINTS?! Ack!). We have three days at Disney and then we're headed to Palm Springs, so we will not be right in L.A. anyway.

AG- I may be on your way to Joshua Tree, depending on how you're driving. Maybe we could get together even if the meet up can't work out.
AJ- how would you feel about a day at the amusement park? There are several H&M's in the general area of Orange County, but are you thinking of staying in OC or LA?

Una, do you know what day you might be able to fit in a YLF lunch so we can plan? Schedule wise it's fine for me to move my trip up a week, but only if I can get a guarantee to meet you! (Do you feel like a celebrity? Hee-hee!)

I was in CA last winter and I know it's hard to fit in little side venues like this when you are traveling with family and already have a busy schedule. There were so many YLF superstars I wanted to meet, but only had a chance to squeeze in FABULOUS Taylor. I'm so excited to have this chance to have a trip just about YLF! Una, I don't mean to pressure you but if I'm going to arrive earlier, then I need to buy my plane ticket tomorrow (Friday). Could you please let me know if you'll be able to squeeze in some time with us over the weekend?

Khris, I will have to defer to your knowledge of the area whether I should look into staying in orange county or LA.

If I come a week earlier, it looks like MaryK can't join us until that Sunday. Is the Huntington flea market open on Sunday? How long are you usually at the flea market, Rae? I guess we can make Sunday shopping day. Is it too far to go from the flea market to a shopping center that has an H&M?

I do like amusement parks. So that could be a possibility for Saturday, but let's wait and see what day Una can join us.

The swap meet is open on Sundays. A slightly different selection, but there still should be the types of vendors I go to. I usually get there around 9-10 and stay for 2 hours, but by no means do we have to dedicated that much time.

I looked it up, and unfortunately the nearest H&M seems to be about 20 minutes away from the swap meet (address looks like it's probably in South Coast Plaza - Mary, can you confirm?). There is a mall right down the street from the swap, but I was sad to see it doesn't have H&M! South Coast is huge, though, so if we have to make a trek, we're sure to get our money's worth. If y'all want to gauge for yourselves, look up Goldenwest College in zip code 92647 to see where it is in relation to your areas of interest. We could always skip that part if it is out of the way.

Okay, before I can commit, I'm pretty sure Sunday (the 16th?) will probably be the best day for me, but we will not have a car, and someone needs to tell me how far Anaheim is from all the rest of you... I do not want to be a pain or mess with AJ's plan, which sounds like a sure thing for the following weekend. It would be awesome to meet up with you all but not if it's easier for everyone else to plan for AJ's original dates. I will certainly be down there again at some point without my boys and then it will be exclusively devoted to doing what *I* want.
