Nude sandals: Looking for 'The Ones'

I am desperately seeking a pair of go-to sandals for the summer. I have been following forum posts and blog posts, I've now tried the Clarks Country meadow (too narrow! :(, and pondered over the Dansko Sissy and looked at Sarah's nude sandals (blanking on name, I'll come back and edit in a bit) but continue to look at Zappos and endless and all the other sites gathering review info.

Last summer I ordered and tried the Clark's Brulees (also too narrow) and the above mentioned Dansko Sissy which didn't work but I cannot remember why. I might call Zappos to see if they have it my return notes.

Sadly, I thought the Meadow would be 'the one' but it was so narrow on my foot at a 9.5 yet left a good 1/2 inch beyond my that I know a size 10 would be entirely too long.

I also purchased the pewter Kenneth Cole Cedar City wedge last summer but while I like that shoe it is not the nude colored wedge I am seeking.
Sadly, Clarks do not seem to be made in wider widths. So I'm coming up empty!

I'm actually willing to spend up to $100 for once because I know these will be worn to death and I want to be comfortable.

I got the Clarks Laguna Reef sandals in sand. I also have wider feet, but these fit me great. My feet may not be as wide as yours, but it's worth a shot...they're seeling out fast, fyi!

Thanks. I wonder if they would look good on my muscular calves though? The clarks meadow is my perfect shoe in terms of styling - love the slightly more chunky look of the shoe as opposed to the Laguna Reef in terms of styling for my legs. I really wish I could find a chunkier sandal but maybe I should give the Reefs a try.

I have muscular calves and thicker ankles too. The ankle strap is set low on these, and the nude color helps. Plus the heel is pretty chunky. If you don't like them, you can always send them back. I bought them because I was so tired of searching for sandals and was willing to try everything zappos had. I lucked out with these.

Sarah, Many thanks for all your work. I have my eye on the Plovers. I think of all of those that is closest to what I am wanting. I love the ones you also like but your size is sold out in - but the narrow wedge scares me as I'm deeming these shoes my go to the zoo, park, and everything in between shoes this summer. I have a feeling I should revisit the dansko sissy. I for the life of me cannot remember what it was that didn't work about it.

But I maybe ought to consider the ones you have and the Plovers. I think the ones you have look perfect on you. Might be worth a try for me.

Agrace, where do you need the width? Toebox or instep?

Angie, I think both. For example, the Meadows seemed to fit fine but the front straps were too narrow for my foot to fit successfully and smoothly through. *However* the instep was also too narrow. If i look at my foot from the bottom in a lot of sandals, there is a good 1/2 inch of foot hanging over the instep. I can do it and walk that way but I don't suppose it is optimal.

Part of me just can't believe so many people have such nice dainty feet! I would think a shoe like the Meadow would be too narrow for most...

I'm back and even more desperate. I'm about to turn to *shudder* flip flops if I can't find some, YLF friends! Any recommendations?

My problem is this: the styling of the meadow is perfect. I love the simplicity and the wedge heel. I cannot find a replica of that shoe that comes in a wide or just has a naturally wider foot. Sarah posted about the Plover and I like that but I feel like the vamp is higher than I want. I really prefer the style of the Meadow so that is what I want. The Dansk Sissy is nice but a bit 'clunkier' than I want.

Any help, anyone think of another Meadow-like shoe to try? Many thank you's!

Jenava - Thank you, I really like that Naya McCloud (the second shoe) in the 'camelot' color. I'm going to go read the reviews and learn more but in terms of styling, that is the style I want to a 'T'. So that might just work....off to read about it.

Angie, I really like the Harlee sandal on the Nordstroms website but the heel is not a wedge and I think I'll do better in a wedge since I plan to wear this to the playground, zoo, running errands and so on. I love the style of that shoe and the price is really good so it would be a good shoe for me to have to wear to a casual dinner out. Of all of these options you both have so helpfully posted, I'm thinking that the Naya looks kind of promising. crossing fingers...

The design of the Clarks Soybean is a twist on what you're looking for, but they are so comfortable for my high instep and they seem to run a little wide. [I have a not-officially-wide wider foot.] When we've had sun I've put them on and walked miles with no problem.

The vamp is a bit higher than I like for my muscular calves, but the straps do create a V that helps elongate. I don't know what your skintone is, but the "Soybean" is really a true nude for my super-pale legs. I think I read somewhere the color "Green" is more of a metallic tan like it looks on Endless, but don't hold me to it!
