I'm seriously thinking of adding nude boots/booties to my wardrobe as I think they will be incredibly versatile. Obviously it's spring/summer so may not wear them until fall but the two I'm considering are on sale and available in my size now so think I might jump.

Those who have the Report Marks Booties love them and rave about their comfort so they are one of the considerations. The other is an Indigo by Clarks boot in a nude leather. I have some shoes by Indigo and they are beyond comfortable as well.

Do you have a preference as to which pair might suit my style better? Price is pretty much the same for both.

I personally LOVE the first pair, but #2 has a nice retro vibe going on and would look great with a lot of your things. Do you have a preference? Or maybe try both - it could very well be that one pair doesn't fit right and then the decision is out of your hands anyway.

Wow, what a timely post! I am seriously eyeing the Report Marks booties. They are my preference for you too. I have been hearing the raves. I am looking at Amazon, but will do some other searching.

Hmmm.... You wear your lace up docs very well, but the chunkier shape of the report bootie looks more "You", at least to me. I like them better personally, but I'm trying not to let that sway me.

Oh, I love this idea. I had been thinking about a pair also, but with my body in a yo-yo state and needing the money for clothes, I declined. Soooo, I will happily and vicariously live through you. So, let me pretend that you are really me..except with nice, straight, lovely legs ( I have one bowed leg ). AH.....my dream...I would go for the higher, granny ones. I think that they are more versatile. You look good in the higher boots with skirts, you can wear rolled up skinnies or a straight leg pant, and so on. YAYYYYY !! I can't wait to get them...er..I can't wait til you get them. : )

In the end though, go with whichever are more comfortable.

I don't know much about your style, but the first pair looks more versatile to my minimalist eye, though it's probably suede - so hard to maintain. But the second appeals to my romantic side SO MUCH! If you can get both, go for it.
I'm also stealing this idea for myself, if you don't mind

The first pair is definitely the more versatile but the second pair is so great with your rubric that I think you should have both! I am such an enabler. P.S. I want the first pair also.

On looks only, I would go for the Clarks. But you need to try them on ultimately, the choice will maybe make itself for you. I know Suz looks terrific in her Report booties, and she reported they were very comfortable. Enough to walk all over NY with them on, new!

But there is something for the higher ankle, lace-up ones, and the fact it is Clarks, which means they are probably comfortable too.

These are on my shopping list, too, but I have to keep the heel under 2 inches, boo! I think the first style will be more versatile so they would get my vote.

This is a tough one - the first pair fit more with your modern look, but the second pair fit more with your edgy, funky looks - sorry I'm not more help.

Like Rae and her boots, you snooze, you lose! The Indigo's are no longer available. I do love them though so will search and see if anybody else has them at a comparable price that will deliver to Canada.

Oh no, gotta put clarks back in the race. It is much more your style and fits much of the retro stuff you already have. And don't wait til fall, nude is for summer too!

I have NO IDEA how this happened, but just logged back into Amazon and one pair of the boots were back in my size! So I wasted no time and pulled the trigger on the Clarks (as well as the Vintage Fashion Accessories book in the YLF bookstore).

Yippee!!! I think the Clarks probably had my heart from the beginning.

This is a hard one! The Marks are more tough, and the Clarks are more vintage and ladylike. They would both definitely work. I guess my final vote is for the Marks, since the lower profile makes them cooler and will probably enable you to wear them year round.

I hate to do it, but I have to make a practical comment (so non-appropriate on a boot thread) but I find our weather is quite sluchy and wet and suede often suffers in those conditions. For that reason, I would give the Clarks a slight edge over the Report.

I also think they are gorgeous in a slightly tough way that would work really well for you.

Looks like you've already hit the "send" button, Shannon, and I think you did the right thing with your choice. I tried the Reports, but they didn't work on me due to the ankle opening and I preferred the sleeker look, similar to your Clarks. Either one is a beauty and I'm glad they had your size.

Jem - yes, got those pretty little red and white polka dot peep toe Aerosoles - now just waiting for the weather to cooperate! They are soooooo pretty and comfy though - wait until you see them!
