Nothing special - just "knockin' around"

Thought I'd wear a new scarf I picked up at the drugstore the other day - no retail stone and all that : ) I actually thought it might be a fraternal twin to one TraceyLiz wore with her red jeans the other day. They are similar but not twins.
The outfit is nothing special, just a low effort combination that is comfortable. Pants are too short for the boots, but they'll do.
Suggestions for improvement - and how could there not be with this? - are welcome. Thanks!

Very pretty! I like these colours together - they feel a bit unexpected and the whole thing is very cozy.

This is a nice casual outfit Pil! The deep cranberry color is lovely, and the scarf does a great job adding some visual pattern interest. I would like to see the tee longer though, it seems a bit short (can't quite tell); maybe more similar to the length of the jacket, or even tucked with a fun printed belt. LOVE the snakeskin bag here

Aida, the shirt actually is longer but I hiked it up a bit to help disguise the belly rolls : ) I thought about a belt, but I'd have the same thing with that too - the shirt is just a bit too clingy for my midsection. I'll keep your suggestion about length in mind though. I've always thought my untucked shirts needed to be on the shorter side and I"m now still getting used to that *not* being the case with pants.

Pil the shirt length does have some fudging room, actually. The general rule is 1-3 inches above the crotch point (this is Angie's great blog post about it), but of course our shapes are all a bit different and so your own sweet spot will vary. I tend to wear my tops on the shorter end of that scale because it flatters my own shape and proportions better. In this outfit I just see too much pant crotch height, if that makes sense

EDIT: It might be worth taking a long top, one that goes to the crotch, and take photos of it starting there... then moving up a half inch or an inch at a time, just to see where your personal sweet spot is. Or at the very least, you can see what's not flattering on you.

Aida, I do see what you mean about the shirt length relative to the jacket length. Now if I can only remember!

Wow, pil, I really like that cranberry colour on you. I am not a pants person, so I'm not sure about the length. I think the top (#2) fits you very well and looks very pretty.

The combo of snakeskin grey and cranberry is a favorite of mine

I think you look very put together and I love the color combo. I agree about the shirt needing to be longer, that is something I have just discovered. I always wore tops that barely brushed my hips and have learned here that for my short waisted pear shape longer is better.

Lovely, warm color combo. This scarf would look great with denim, too. Great ease in the fits here, and the bag adds richness and interest.

I agree with Aida on the shirt length. Just like pants length, I think we're working toward pleasing proportions, not hard to achieve perfection! I've been sizing up on all my tops -- and I cut out the tags if it messes with my head!

BTW -- I think you pants length is OK -- particularly because you have low contrast with the shoes.
