To anyone in need for some cheerful distraction, feel free to share your personal goals for the new year. Let's be inspired by each other and hold each other accountable. I will share some of my own goals, and plan on adding updates on progress. Join in if you want

1. Ice-bathing.
This will be the year when I finally continue bathing in the ocean beyond summer and into winter. I have made plans with my mother-in-law to do a weekly swim (or quick dive) every Friday starting in July. The ocean temperature is on average 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10° C). So it will indeed be refreshing!

2. Running.
I haven't run in years, but I did complete several half-marathons pre-2016. I would love to pick up running again. I remember it was a real struggle to get into the habit of running, physical activity isn't something that comes naturally to me. I believe I was a Koala-bear in my past life... I would love to be able to run 3k without to much agony by the end of the year.

3. Read more.
I have hoarded a lot of books over the years, in my "might read later"-pile. Well, now is the time. I plan on forcing my self to finish reading them, and/or toss/donate the ones that doesn't do it for me. Bonus for reading in non-native languages, as I'd also like to freshen up my German and English.

4. Social activities with cards/games.
I used to enjoy playing Bridge, and table-top roleplaying games. I would love to make this part of my life again. This means I need to make new friends, becouse I don't know anyone who's into this where I live now! The social restrictions will determine if this will be online or in real life. Keeping my fingers crossed for the latter!
