Hi my name is Karie and I like ankle pants! I know they don't get a whole lotta love here on the fourm, but I figure I'm 5'8" of mostly legs so hopefully I can carry it off without looking too stumpy.

These are red and navy plaid, and I wore them with a light pink sweater top.

I have seen the lengths of these all over the place, so I figured I'd leave them alone for now. I could let them down about an inch. Should I?

You're wearing these pants in a flattering way. Super tapered, a little shorter and with low contrast footwear. Works, and well done.

I like them with the pointy toed shoes!! Too cold here for ankle pants, sadly. We get maybe 4-6 weeks a year where ankle pants seem like a good idea Helps keep me on the straight and narrow and away from them.

My happiness factor was very high, even when one of my second graders said, "How come you're wearing your pajamas to school?" Out of the mouths of babes.

I like them too! Especially as you've styled then. Frankly, I think ankle pants are the perfect dose of pattern. Full length pants are too much and I don't love patterned skinnies with long shirt and tall boots either - not enough pattern. Ankle pants are perfect.

Even before I read Angie's reply, I thought I'd leave them as is. They look fab with those pumps! The sweater gives them a classic treatment, too; nice color play. I wonder how they'd look with a slightly boxy or high-low top.

Its all in how you wear them IMHO:) I love how you wear them. Reminiscent of the length and way Beverly Like Hills styles them and I think you look super fab.

I LOVE the outfit! The ankle pants are a lovely fit and pattern. And the nude shoes help to counteract the leg shortening effect. I have two ankle length pants and I am yet to wear it with such perfection. Love it on you!

Thanx for posting this, YLF Karie!

I have just bought some ankle pants in a teal (dark green) brocade and just loved them on me. I am planning to keep them for evening wear. They are so comfy and kind of flatering on me as they skim my fleshy tights but they are also greatly tapered and cuffed(!) to hem showing of some of my bodie's slimmest parts(my ankles:-)) but still, they are a bit longer then yours...

Even Angie recommends low contrast footwear I plan to wear them with some black 1" block heeled flats -and to my eyes, these also work (but again- for evening wear).
Do not want to hijack your thread:-), but may be I should post them for K/R first?

(My pants are also looking like some satin PJ's, gotta be carefull wearing them)

Karie this outfit looks marvelous on you!! As you say you have lots of length in the leg but with the nude shoes i think this is very elongating. You look totally wonderful!!

I think my eye has adjusted because I am appreciating the ankle pant outfits. It is too cold for them here without ankle boots or I would give them a try.

Karie your outfit is really nice and a definite winner. Lyn I think your is working for you too. Nice pattern on the pants.

I'm so pleased that my ankle length pants are getting some love
I must say, it was an immediate "sold!" when I tried them on, as (at least to me, anyway) the fit is perfect and they are nicely tapered at the hem.

Shevia, the pink sweater is from Macy's (last year). It reminded me of something Laura Petrie (Dick Van Dyke Show) would have worn in the early '60's.

Deborah, I love Beverly Like Hills - she always styles her ankle pants beautifully.

Neel, I'd love to see how you wear your ankle pants, I'll bet it's gorgeuos!

Lyn67, I've seen ankle pants in all different lengths, but I think the most common is about 1 to 2 inches above the ankle - not really sure on this. I think yours look fine.

I like them! I think the key for me is that they are super tapered. (I personally have a lot of trouble with this unless I tailor them, maybe because my ankles are really narrow so ankle pants are usually too wide at the bottom for me).
