NIN/Soundgarden concert BUT it's outdoors. in FL. in Aug.

BF and I are going to a concert in a few weeks and I'm thinking ahead to what to wear. My biggest dilemma - the weather. It's an ampitheater that's partially shaded but outdoors. I'd love to wear the Fender guitar shirt I lemminged after seeing Joy's but it's just too snug for 90 degrees.
Thinking my self studded Bebe tee (airflow!) with leather panel skirt and spiked toe sandals? I don't really do the all black thing but I'm at a bit of a loss. Any other ideas would be much appreciated! I would love to do my peeptoe booties but 3" to stand in for a double header show is just too much.

That tee is great and works perfect. If you wore your dalmation tank (another cool option) you'd be easy for the BF to spot if he runs for drinks or something. Sometimes I dress on purpose that way if we're going to be in a crowd.

First of all, that should be a great concert! I'm a little jealous (saw NIN oh, 20+ years ago? I can't believe it's been that long).

I like the idea of the tee a lot. Will the skirt be too warm?

Janet, maybe . . . it's paneled leather with stretchy ponte(?). We have the back of the first tier seats, so no one behind us. Better airflow. BF made sure of that. He hates the heat. It's that ginger gene

EDIT: and I opted to work a Saturday night shift thinking I needed the money rather than go see NIN with David Bowie in '95. Slapping myself still. lol

I also have this bustier/peplum top (tried on here months ago - it may fit better) but I never seem to find just the right way to wear it. seems off for this event?

That show sounds amazing. What a combo!

My husband and I saw an acoustic Chris Cornell show a couple of years ago and it was incredible. He's hands down one of my favourite performers of all time.

I really like both options. And I think option #2 could work well depending on where you go with your hair and accessories. Maybe a black leather cuff on your wrist and long, beachy waves in your hair, and lined eyes? I'd skip earrings. And I totally think black booties would look great, too.

Carambola, the cutout tank is poly, while the tee is cotton blend. Niki, I appreciate the pinterest looks but clearly a lot of them are not for true summer . . . the leather jackets for starters lol. I would have loved to see the acoustic Chris Cornell tour. I was sad enough missing Soundgarden in Tahoe 2 summers back because I was here in FL at the time. Happy I get to finally see both missed shows of years gone by

Awesome that you are going to see NIN and Soundgarden! NIN is one of my all-time favorite bands. The weather does make it hard to dress, doesn't it? If I manage to go see them when they come around my way, I'd dress like Trent Reznor in his early days -- white or black muscle tee/tank, loose knee length black shorts, stompy boots

So true about the leather, Mo. Where I live it doesn't get very hot, so I think my idea of summer-appropriate is pretty skewed.

Those cuffs are cute! Love the ebay skirt also.

Love the first outfit! Love the second one two but it feels more polished than grunge to me (I'm thinking in that hot outdoor situation I'd probably default to something a little like cciele's outfit), but you should totally wear the second one somewhere. I think in general wear something that makes you feel badass, but feels natural to you and you are good. I had tickets to see NIN last year and then we both got the flu :(. Hoping to catch them this time around. Have fun!!

Sounds like a great concert. I saw NIN with The Cranberries years ago. The peplum is gorgeous but I like the first outfit for a concert. Love the Ebay one too and it might keep you cooler if you pull the trigger. Have fun!

You are considering all black with leather panels??? If comfort is your goal, I am afraid you might be disappointed! But it will be funny to see all the people wearing all black. What really cracks me up are people in full-on goth outfits, in blazing summer heat.

Go for cotton...a black summer dress? Crop top and maxi skirt? Sneakers or flip flops or sandals would be my choice of footwear, but that's just me.

Have a back up plan - I'm making my olive green Mo $ Mo wine tee into a racer back tank with some faux leather buckle straps. Could switch the leather skirt for shorts, either black or BF jean shorts. Olive glads (carrying the buckle theme over) or the spike toe sandals.
All I'd need to round out the ensemble would be the leather cuff. Which I've had on a list for over a year now.

FWIW I don't find short skirts particularly hot, no matter what they are made of, they are a short skirt, plenty of airflow, although natural materials are better than pleather.

Good point Rabbit. It's real leather, with a stretchy paneling.
Here is the shirt in progress. I think I dried it too hot or didn't iron the studs long enough, they got destroyed in the last laundry cycle lol. Will have to touch them up for sure. But you get the idea.

Well for what its worth, I like the first outfit. The studs and spikes give it a rock vibe without looking like a costume or MDAL. Plus it looks comfortable and flattering.

Considering your skirt is real leather, I think it will work. Love the Mo $ Mo Wine tank. I think that is the best option due to the top looking very cool (in both ways). The graphic still reads fine even if there was some damage in the laundry.
