Newest black and white jacket comes out to play!

As you may have seen in one of my recent posts, I do love my black and white jackets. This is the newest addition to my collection - a Classiques Entier jacket that I bought at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I was pleased as punch to see it on Angie's list after I'd already picked it up!

JR pointed out in that other post that I always pair these jackets with black. She suggested a column of color, but since that would require, you know, color (LOL!) I decided to pull out my white pants and a teal top. What do you think? Does the leather trim seem seasonally confused with the white pants? Sorry for the goofy pose in #2 - I'm trying to show my new funky-for-me black Fidjis!

That is a stunning jacket Christy:) I like this styoing. Everying works and ties in well to my eye. The lovely silver chain necklace 'connects' to the white trousers and the shoes with the jacket . Not seasonally confused to my eye:)

Oh by the way... have we seen the shoes before??? They look nice, did you post them on another thread?

The jacket is great! It seems mid-toned enough to lighten up (like you did) or darken down (with winter black).

Seeing it over the teal top makes me want to see it over a teal dress (for a short column of color?)

How do you like those new Fidji's? Cute peek at them. I'd love to get an even better look. . . do you think they'll work well with dresses/skirts? How did the sizing work for this style? Can you tell I have both colors in my Amazon cart. . .

Deborah, no I never posted these shoes as a K/R - one of the few shoe decisions I've been able to make on my own!
Sara, they were not as comfortable as my other pair of fidjis on the first wearing, but I think they'll loosen up and be quite comfortable. They ran a bit small - my other Fidji's are a 6.5, but I had to size up in these to a 7.
Sarah, I did keep all of the others! These types of jackets are a bit of a "signature" for me as Angie puts it.

And your reptile bag ties it all together. Black and white jackets definitely are a good look for you!

I think those are the same Fidjis that I have in taupe! Are they like these in the picture? Whichever ones they are, I like them! Mine are surprisingly comfortable, but I had to size up in them, too.

Fantastic! I love the black and white jacket with the white trousers. It really works for summer with the bright teal. I can tell the jacket will be fabulous with darker trousers in the fall. Great purchase!

Fab! Great jacket and you can go either season and do no wrong. Darker colours for autumn/winter and lighter/white for spring/summer. The outfit is fab and your accessories (shoes, necklace, bag) ties it nicely together. No confusion

Beautiful jacket. I like it with the white and teal but it would work really well over a dress to create the column too.

This look is very polished and easy -- great for the office, because it combines professionalism and approachability. Teal, along with the slight sheen in the fabric, adds a bit of vibrance, and the pearls and the soft white a bit of femininity. The end of summer can often fall flat fashion wise, but you're keep the standard high!

Thanks all! Glad to hear there's no seasonal confusion. I was really happy in this outfit and even had a woman tell me I looked very chic with the jacket and shoes. It's always nice to have your newest purchases validated!

Parsley - yes these are the same shoes! Glad to hear they are comfortable for you. I think once the leather softens up a bit they'll be perfect.

Oh, I love this! Teal is such a wonderful colour and the white really makes it pop. You always dress with sophisticated class, but now you've added a note of joy too.

I would welcome you to the dark side, but maybe it's really the other way around. ;o)

Looks great! Is this blazer leather trimmed? If so, FUN! The outfit is a wee bit top heavy to my eye, but that's not necessarily a bad thing; black shoes might solve this. I love seeing you in color, this teal is lovely on you!

EDIT: OK so I see in the text that the shoes are actually black, but they look gray on my monitor. Odd!

Aida: Yes the jacket is leather trimmed - isn't that cool?! The shoes really are a dark charcoal grey even thought they called them black on the website.
Una: That's so interesting that you say that because when Angie posted on my other thread that I'm extremely ladylike, it kind of took me by surprise! LOL! That's never been a style goal of mine, but it must be how I come across? Maybe that's why I want to "toughen" things up a bit.

Christy, I didn't see that other thread but I must say that after meeting you in person several times you don't come across in any way as _negatively_ lady like; your clothing may be refined, but you definitely know how to have a good time. I mean that as a compliment, not sure how to word it

Also, I'm not saying that being ladylike is a bad thing or somehow a negative, it's just not a word I would have used myself to describe my style. But I guess modern classic is going to have that ladylike feel to it. I can tell you my husband would *never* describe me as ladylike!!! LOL!!!
