New Year's Resolution: One wardrobe not two

I straightened my hair over the weekend -- I think it looks a little wild. Anyway, in an effort to blend my casual and work wardrobes this is what I came up with. Blending these two worlds is a work in progress and this particular look is not my favorite. I think it's the denim on teal. The colors are too similar. Oddly, I convinced myself to wear it once I put on the necklace -- I like my shine what can I say?

I think you're right. The shine makes it work. Great decision (as usual!) As for your hair, I think it looks good! It's a change, though, and it might take you a few days to get comfortable in it. Will it be as versatile as your curls? And how long does it take for it to grow out?

I totally understand about trying to blend two wardrobes. I am not having much success yet. You, on the other hand, are doing well. I love that necklace.
I'm with you on denim and teal...I think it is a personal preference. I'm sure many people quite like them together.

Suz - When I straighten my hair it's temporary. You're right it takes a few days to get used to it. I didn't have a lot of time this morning to style it (and it shows). When my hair is straight it is just as versatile but I lose a lot of volume. Humidity/ water causes the curls to spring back so I'll be curly again by next week.

I'm not sure what you're looking at in the mirror Day Vies but I think the teal and denim are gorgeous together! and paired with the lighter coloured trousers is just delicious! You're right about the shiny though - it is part of YOUR style and totally ramps up the outfit.

Shannon -- Thank you! I realized I said a similar thing about your denim and teal ikat ensemble a week or so ago. I like the shape and proportions of the jacket here more than I like the denim wash with teal, which is why I thought it worked. I tried it with a navy jacket, which looked great as far as color but the navy jacket was too long.

I really like subtle colour mixes so think this looks great together. Never mind that you add all the important fashionista elements and wear it like you own it.

Love the hair for a change! Love your curls too so I could go either way on you.

You look terrific to me! You have a very subtle sense of color, which is clear from your posts, but to just regular admirers the necklace is the brilliant touch that brings this all together. As for your hair, what can I say, I am partial to curls, but you are gorgeous any which way.
