Hi All,
NZ has been late to the Covid surge but we are amidst it right now. I don't want to dwell on the state of the world but it is oppressive.
I always keep an eye on NZ Label Tuesday label - they are more known for dresses and my pink and white shirt dress, an older spotted shift dress and my two piece black floral are all their designs. The last couple of seasons the pieces haven't appealed to me as much- but the recent drop did and I have purchased these clay coloured trousers. They are a suiting fabric - not wool - but will be warm enough for 95% of winter days here.
My first wear today - trying to decide whether to tuck or not. They are quite high waisted and I am quite short in the torso - but my eye has adjusted a bit. I think untucked is more flattering but tucked is more trendy? They feel like a bit of a stretch - I haven't worn trousers with pleats for a while. They do feel a bit similar to some trousers I wore about 1990.....( or a little bit Elaine from Seinfeld).
I will do an outfit lab with them - wondering how they will look with ankle boots? I quickly tried them with a couple of options before taking off the tags. The finds below are some things I think could work with them. I also will experiment a bit with the length.
I plan for them to be a work piece - I was considering a work midi dress for winter but in reality trousers and jeans are easier for me in the rainy wet winters we have - in my line of work in an engineering facility.
This year I have added two pieces - the fawn knit linen top and these trousers. I am still considering cognac lace up boots, a new sweater and some sort of coat but haven't purchased them yet.
Thanks in advance and footwear advice is most welcome.
