New to this- vamping wardrobe help

Hello guys,
I am trying to revamp my wardrobe and get more pieces that are futuristic and asymmetrical. Any tips?! Will try to put up photos of inspiration.

Here's two I found quickly - as you go through them, maybe think in terms of the new style direction you are moving in - then you can add pieces thoughtfully that will evolve your current wardrobe in your new direction. Have a search through the blog and you'll find other great advice. I'm sure some forum members with edgies and more avant-garde style sensibilities will be able to help you too

We'll all probably suggest COS. Their things tend to be architectural and well made. Limited stores, but I can vouch for their fabrics and construction.

Besides your inspiration pix, it would also be helpful to see you--whether in something you like to wear or not. I know it's a couple days until you can post photos, but then please do.

Ok, I don't know what your budget is, and I'd need to hear your answer to Rachylou's question to give better recommendations. I have been into a full-on dystopian phase, but lately I've been leaning towards a sort of happy pastel color for warmer weather (shiney sky city) and neutrals for winter (a bit more dry/dusty dystopian feel without as much of the distressing as before.

Oooh, cindysmith, those are great suggestions! I already had two of those Etsy shops bookmarked, but just went through your list and favorite'd all of them.

I'll just add that TheRealReal and Poshmark are good sources for pre-owned high-end brands. I have 8 Helmut Lang dresses, tops, and blazers that I've purchased in about the last year, all secondhand and in excellent condition, most for well under $100 apiece (with the exception of one beautiful new-with-tags blazer at a bit over $100).
