New silhouette fail : the case of the growing pants

I wore this today trying to do a slightly different silhouette .
Didn't look bad at beginning of day but one hour later the pants started growing and growing and growing
Thighs
Waist
Behind
All for bigger and bigger and baggier and baggier . Kind of hysterical .
Not wearing those again !

I actually wore 1 but started with 2 with my thrift shop Gucci loafers
Looking at the pics I wish I stuck with those !

Too bad this happened because you look so darn cute! If the pants hadn't stretched in all directions I would say this was a winner outfit. I think you should hunt down a sub for the pants and try again. I like both shoe options.

I had a pair of NYDJ ponte pants that did that. I think they were falling down and I needed a makeshift belt to hold them up! I was also tripping over the too long hem line that had stretched so low it was dragging on the ground. They are history.

Too bad about the pants! I like the outfit, you could certainly swap in less growthful pants and wear again. I like both footwear options; the boots are a little more cohesive, weather wise, and the loafers are a fun more trendy looking option (plus add just a little fun seasonal confusion).

I like the outfit with both shoe options and you need to replace those pants pronto!

I also like the outfit with both shoe options. And HATE pants that grow too much. But hate tight / structured pants and jeans that don't stretch much at all. My apple belly life seeks a happy medium here...

Staysfit has a good point: sometimes a belt can secure the pants in place enough that they still have some structure even if they bag out. Tall boots are good for "anchoring" in place at the ankles as well. Some of my favorite jeans expand throughout the day (like leggings) but still work as long as I have a belt, AND tall boots to tuck them into.

I don't even like belts, mind you... not with my apple shape. Belted looks just don't flatter. But belts are invaluable for anchoring, which minimizes the growth factor a bit.

Oh, how annoying. You look very pretty though. Maybe tossing the pants in a hot water cycle in the washing machine will help shrink them. So when you will wear them they will feel tight but after a few hours they will be "normal". Or just replace them and the hell with it.

Love your outfit! I empathize with you on the "growing pants" concern. That has happened to me and it is so frustrating. Staysfit's idea of belting is a good one. Some fabrics, especially the ones with a lot of lycra added, stretch out during the day no matter what you do -- making the "growing pants" problem nearly unavoidable.

what @Sisi said...maybe a run through the hot water wash and dry cycle may solve the problem. because you look fab in this new to you silhouette.

I much prefer the outfit with the boots. Super cute. Try other pants with the look - pants that keep on growing are bad news.

I've had luck with a hot dryer. But sometimes they grow and sometimes they don't.

Well, good for you, for trying a new silhouette. It looks great! I like the print on that tee, from what I can see, and I like the pattern mix with the scarf. Not to laugh at your expense, I found your description of the pants situation pretty darned funny! Those pants may need to find another home.

Yeah pants are going for sure.
If it was just the waist maybe but the overall growth.. no way!
