I got the short haircut we were talking about. Not sure if if counts as a pixie. Not sure yet if I like it, of how I am going styling it. (the second picture was just after I tried putting some more gel in it - the first I just took in the middle of the day)

OH, you look FANTASTIC! I keep thinking maybe I should try a pixie again, but I never looked this good. And those are some great glasses. You can do a lot with this cut too!

Love it!! I would recommend styling wax. I use a pea-sized amount each morning to keep my bob piece-y. I used the stuff when I had shorter hair, too!

Anne, I LOVE it on you. I did a double take when I saw that first picture, not because it doesn't look like you, but just that this particular style looks SO GOOD on your face.

A few years ago I had hair that wasn't quite a pixie, but was slightly longer than yours, and I found gel very hard to manage - it left my hair flat by halfway through the day. What worked better for me was to get a root lifter spray to create some volume at the roots, and either use a spray wax (you can either spray it directly on your hair, or spray it on your hands & work it through your hair) or else a quick-drying pomade to create texture and get that nice tousled look.

This is a super-flattering cut for your face Anne. I love it! It seems really easy to care for and fun to style.

I've never had short hair, but I've used sea salt type spray (e.g., Bumble and Bumble surf spray) and that gives nice volume and that tousled, windblown, beachy look.

Looks absolutely fab, Anne! I have used a styling pomade for keeping a "touseled" look all day. Use a very small amount, rub between fingers to warm before applying to hair.

Thanks so much everyone for the continued approval of the hair ( if there is someone out there who doesn't like it, feel free to let me know - you would have DD7 for company!)
I think part of my hesitation was because, unstyled, I look a lot more like my Mum than I did before.

Kari, I have some volume lifting spray and will try that. I was out of wax (that is why I was using gel which I had only bought to do my DDs hair for dance concerts) and will try your suggestion of spray wax, if it is available here in Oz. Cathy, I don't think I'll buy salt water spray, but since it is summer here and I live near the beach I'll see if that helps!

Really cute! When my hair was short I used TIGI Bed Head styling goop to keep it looking piecey - I'd just take a teeny amount, rub it between my hands and run them through my hair.
