I got my interview stuff back from the trip for alterations about two weeks ago . . . only to find out the next day that I wouldn't be going for an interview

The position fell through . . . long story short there was a legal loophole and someone far higher up filled the position.

I had it in the closet for a couple weeks and couldn't bare to look at it.

But, I owe you pictures.

The black pencil is the halogen skirt. I'm very happy with the way it came out and the alteration cost on the waist and hips was fairly minimal.

The brown trousers also pictured with the pink shirt are a charcoal and brown herringbone wool from ATL (got them on deep discount at the end of the season). I think these are the Kate fit. They are unlined, but that actually is why I liked them as I found the lined ones very sweaty since most companies line in polyester. I'm hoping they hold up. They need hemmed and perhaps a small nip in the waist. I originally was going to pass them up, but after attending a winter funeral in a dress, I decided I could use some wool slacks. Brrrr!

The black slacks are NYC and are a self-stripe rayon blend. They were tailored in the waist, and I may still have to hem them. Very pleased with the fit there as well.

The button downs were an adventure unto themselves. I'm fairly pleased with the way the black (there is a white as well, but I need to buy a cami or new bra for it) fits after alterations. The pink didn't come out as well, since it was cut a bit bigger to begin with. These shirts were VERY VERY expensive to alter and they were the slimmest cut through the body I could find on a shirt that fit the shoulders and chest to begin with . . . I am a deadly combo of a large chest and shoulders but small rib cage/waist, ect. They still don't show off my waist much, and make my shoulders seem very broad. Darts had to be added and extended, the side seams were taken up, and a little width was taken out of the armpits and sleeves. I couldn't imagine the cost of altering a jacket.

Please excuse the shoes and socks-- I have a pair of Miz Mooz b&w oxfords to wear with these, but didn't end up digging them out because the heels make noise on our hard floors and I didn't want to wake up the holiday nappers! Also, excuse my lovely bathroom, this is the only mirror in our house.
