New hairstyle and Saturday outfit

Dear Fabbers,
Thank you very much for your help before my hair appointment.
I have had a good discussion with my wonderful hairdresser and she explained the options - angled bob, shoulder length and shorter, but still long. We decided to make the least dramatic change for now, but still a change. She cut about 20 cm off the length and made a blunt angled cut. I really like it. It is still very much what I am used to, but different enough for me to wear it down. It is possible to curl it, if I would like that. It is possible that next time I will have it cut it even shorter

This is what I am wearing today:
Navy ankle pants, gold/white sneakers, navy blouse, yellow jacket and a navy patterned scarf with stripes and apple blossoms to tie the colours together.

What do you guys think? Feedback and styling ideas are much appreciated.

You were very brave to cut 20cms, it looks wonderful. Long enough for DH to be happy that you still have long hair and short enough for it to be a significant change for you.

My DH resists changes to my hairstyle too. He likes it long and blonde - and was quite miffed when I had it cut to above my shoulders.

Wonderful hair and outfit. You wear yellow so well and it looks fresh with navy. The sneakers and white in your scarf brighten even more. This outfit would also look good with a white top under the jacket.

How often do you have to trim your fringe to keep it like that, Katerina?

In the perfect world, the fringe should be trimmed every 2 - 3 weeks. I can just pop in to my hair salon and get it trimmed without wash, it takes about 15 minutes. But I cheat often - get it cut a bit shorter than perfect in order to extend the time and in emergencies, I trim it myself. I actually bought hairdresser scissors which are very sharp for these occasions. My nice hairdresser corrects what I have done the next time.

How often do you trim your short cut? I imagine you have to do it quite often to keep it this perfect?

My short hair is cut and treated every 6 weeks. It does not grow fast so I can hold out that long.

Gorgeous! A very mod hairstyle. Great outfit. Angie is right. The dramatic hairstyle suits your pretty face. I have to trim my bangs bi-weekly to keep them at the ideal length. I have hairdressing scissors and researched how to cut bangs. My hair grows fairly fast.

Runcarla, yes, it feels fresh and much lighter. Now I wonder why I didn’t wear my hair shorter earlier. In fact, now it feels like I would like to wear it even shorter. Maybe, next time it will be a bob.

Style Fan, I have also researched how to cut bangs The methods I found were not that suitable for the short style, so I tried to watch my hairdresser, imitate and improvise. It works when I trim a little now and then, but she corrects it regularly. How clever of you to cut yours every second week. Wow! Is there some good guide or tutorial you have found?
