An unanticipated consequence of my weight loss journey is the impact of the weight loss on my facial shape. My round face has become more angular and my current glasses, while I loved them when I got them, weren't quite right any more. Angie nicely suggested that new eye glasses should be considered in my new wardrobe and I concurred, having put aside money this year in my flexible (health-based) savings account for new specs this spring.

Well, I couldn't wait and on Wednesday I refreshed my rx and picked out these beauties with the help of a fantastic sales assistant. These were the first he picked out for me after I described my preferences, and we kept coming back them over and over again. They are a touch sporty, a bit intellectual, and just a bit funky/creative with the mix of tortoiseshell and perforated metal. Perfect for my natural chic style moniker and my scientific career. I've had a huge smile on my face since I've picked them up today. So, here goes, the first reveal of my new glasses (and my face!) on YLF, plus a couple close ups.
